October in Jamaica

Certainly could! I have been watching the forecast lately and it is nothing but rain rain rain (and thunderstorms). I am not too worried though as I know the rain is usually quick and the sun comes out after. Only 12 days until we leave!

The forecast has been a bit freaky, but so far it looks like it might be okay.  We are leaving in a few days (the 4th) and the wedding is on the 10th... hoping for the best :)  We aren't doing our wedding at a resort, so while we do have a plan a, plan b, and plan c... I don't have a resort with a plan :)

I was asking around, from what I understand it will almost always have rain in the forecast because of the tropical showers, but not to worry unless it says "heavy" rain or something.  Best wishes to you!  We are leaving tomorrow and it does look like its improved from what the outlook was last week.  That was kind of frightening.  Where are you getting married on the Island?  We will be in Runaway Bay at one of the private villas most of the trip.

I went to Jamaica (RIU Ochos Rios) around this time of year in 2008 and yes it rained but it was usually around 3:30 in the afternoon and lasted 20 mins max then the sun was back out and the party started again. There is usually somewhere that the wedding can be moved to indoors and the stormy skies can often make fabulous photo's

Good Luck I'm sure your day will be amazing !!

We are getting married 9th October too, I would love to hear how the weather turned out for other October weddings too. My travel agent advised the rain is nothing to worry about, her words were "it usually bubbles up for 5 minutes in the afternoon and passes as quick as it comes".

We are getting married in September of next year...the weather...mainly the fact that it will be hurricane season really worries me! Would love to know if anyone had any weather related issues while they were there!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
