Passports or message in a bottle invitations?!

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!

I love both passports and message in a bottle invitations, but I just don't know which one to choose! Which one is easier to make? What's the price range for both? Which one do you prefer? Thanks in advance!! :)

I had the same question when deciding on which ones to do. We decided that the boarding passes/passports would be better for us as sending out message in a bottle would cost a ton of money on shipping!

Both great unique choices though. Good luck deciding!

We are going with the message in a bottle invites but are only sending them to people who submitted a tenative RSVP (30 or so) If we sent them to everyone we would not be able to afford to get married! wink.gif THe whole idea can be created for a small amount of money if well researched. Corks, paper, boxes or tube can all be found for pretty cheap on out internet. We are even using mini corona bottles that we have been collecting for a few months. We just had to change our beer brand temperarly. We found tubes that are really cheap and are only putting the info inside the bottle. Others are including lots of cards, info and other stuff. I have also seen small boxes that look great too and you can ad anything inside with the bottle.

I would think the boarding passes would take longer unless you had a template which are easy to find on this site. Then you just ad your information to make it your own.

I'd go with message in a bottle. Message in a bottle is not only different but very classy. I got my bottles, sand, seashells, corks and printed invites for about $250 for about 75 invites. I could have printed them myself and saved some money, but didn't feel like dealing with the hassle. My invites came out amazing!! I'm looking to cut on shipping cost by hand delivering invites to close friends and family. Everyone else will receive the invites by mail. If anyone is interested in the company I used for my Invitations, let me know.

Thank you for all of the information! I've decided to go for the message in a bottle! I'm also going to hand deliver them myself. I just don't know where to start and where to find everything. Which company did you use  for your invitations? Thanks!

I ordered my kits from www.bottlemeamessage.com On the left hand side of the page, you have menu options to choose from. Click on bottles only & more. Then go towards the bottom of the page, where it says complete kits and click on the Red, click here to order button. You'll have different sizes to choose from and optional add ons to choose as well. I've priced pretty much every message in a bottle website and bottlemeamessage were the most reasonable and they included the parchment paper to print the invitations. The only add ons I did was the response cards and having both the invitations and response cards printed by the company. It wasn't expensive to do but most importantly.... Saved me TIME!! Hope this helps. If you have any further questions or would like some ideas, I can share with you what I have in mind :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
