Wow, how is it already my turn? A big thanks to Tammy and all the mods for creating and running such an amazing forum! It has been so incredibly helpful to me. Thereâ€s no way I could have put this wedding together so quickly if it werenâ€t for all of you!

Also a special thanks to all my shout box girls! I never could have imagined that through the process of planning a wedding that I would have made so many amazing new friends!

WEDDING VENUE

Iâ€d known for quite awhile that I wanted to do a destination wedding. I have a large immediate family (oldest of 6 kids) and it was really important for me that they be there, so we decided on California to keep the costs down for them a bit. After a long search we decided on the Point Vicente Interpretive Center in Rancho Palos Verdes. I fell in love with the view!

The setup will be something similar to this:

With these pomanders on each side (bad picture but you get the idea)

And the dinner will be in the Center with the dance out on the patio.

MONOGRAM & INSPIRATION BOARD

I decided on clover green and fuchsia pink for our colors. So the next projects I worked on were my monogram and inspiration boards. These were so much fun to make!

SAVE THE DATE

I had originally wanted to send STD postcards, but once we moved the wedding date up, it didnâ€t make sense to spend the money there when I would need to get started on invites shortly after. So we decided to send an e-STD through pingg.com. The site was really easy to use and I was really glad we used it.

INVITATIONS

I made pocketfold invites from Cards & Pockets. I got the envelope liners from Hobby Lobby and the ribbon from Joanns. The rsvp postcards were from Vista Print.

MY WEDDING ATTIRE

My dress is the Maggie Sottero style Chardonnay. I knew as soon as she was putting it on me that this was my dress. It has everything that I said I wanted. I love it so much!

Rehearsal Dress and shoes:

I found a dress online that I loved but it was way out of my budget. So I had a replica custom made on etsy. I absolutely loved her design but had some issues with it not fitting right. So I brought it along to one of my dress fittings and had her fix it. I think it could still use some fitting in the waist, but this is going to have to do.

FIANCEâ€S WEDDING ATTIRE

His outfit was waaaay harder to put together than mine. For awhile there I thought we were going to end up having the pantless groom! And you can tell he was not a fan of putting everything on just for a pic for my planning thread, too bad!

BEST MAN

I donâ€t have a pic of him but heâ€s just wearing a white shirt, tan pants and then we got him the Reef Fanning Ultimate flip flops with the bottle opener on the bottom. Heâ€s going to love them!

RING BEARER & VIEs (Very Important Extras)

I have four brothers and wanted to include them all in the wedding. The youngest is my ring bearer, the oldest is Andrewâ€s best man, so I had to think of a way to include the middle two. After doing some searching online I found the title “Very Important Extras†and they liked that, so thatâ€s what weâ€re going with. I wanted them all to be dressed the same too so they would all feel as important.

Their shirts and pants are from Old Navy and their flip flops are from Payless.

FLOWERS

I went the DIY route for my flowers. I ordered real touch pink cymbidium orchids and mini calla lilies from afloral.com. I used a mix of the orchids and lilies in my bouquet and then used just the lilies for my two maid of honors bouquets and the rest of the lilies for the boutonnieres.

BD BOOK

I hadnâ€t originally planned on having professional boudoir pics taken, I was actually going to attempt to DIY them but when the SB girls were going on our trip to Chicago, the wonderful Linds came up with the idea to have a marathon BD shoot with the amazing TammyB. So I decided I couldnâ€t pass that up and am SO glad I did it! I definitely recommend doing this. Thereâ€s no way my pics would have turned out even close to what these are. I love them!

PROGRAMS

I made these paper fan programs. They took forever cutting each one out by hand, but I absolutely love the way they turned out, so it was worth it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
