Anyone use Doranna DeBortoli and Fernando Fuentes???

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone used Doranna for their bridal hair and Fernando for their makeup.

I can't decide who I should use. My hair is very important to me so I thought I should go with Doranna and her makeup artist but then I remembered all the great reviews from past brides about Fernando's makeup and got confused. I do not know who Doranna brings for makeup and I do not know much about who Fernando will bring for my hair so I worry.

Do you think I should just hire Doranna for my hair and Fernando for my make-up? Do you think they would be upset if I didn't do both hair and make-up with the same company?

Please let me know your thoughts. I do not want it to be awkward on the day.

I can only speak for Fernando but I love, love, loved him. Would totally recommend many times over.

I dunno if they would get upset if you hired one for one thing and another for something else but it could get expensive, and I would tell them before hand just so everyone is clear.

Highly recommend Doranna! Wife's hair stayed regardless of heat + salsa/contemporary/tango first dance and 2+hrs of salsa dancing.

And our friend did my wife's makeup. They both worked together at the same time while I suntanned and had a beer. There were no problems.

Doranna has a partner Olivia that does bridal makeup and she uses quality products. Check out the portfolio on her web site to get an idea. Also email her and she will be more than happy to answer all your questions.

How did you pay Fernando? Did you have to send him a deposit before hand? I'm just curious as to how it works, if I end up hiring someone in Cancun rather than using my resort's spa for hair/makeup.

thanks!

HI ladies I just go back from my wedding and also can a test to how amazing Fernando is!! and his hair guy Gama - they were both amazing and so fun

When I paid him I sent to a deposit to his sisters house in Chicago. I had no issues at all. On the day of the wedding I paid him the rest in cash in dollars.

He really made my wedding day ;)

I've used both Fernando & Doranna...they do wonderful work!!!

I use Doranna more often, and she has an amazing understanding of HAIR! especially in that tropical climate.  I recommend using outside vendors if possible and if you do decide to go with the resort spa, then a trial is definitely a good idea, especially for the make up.

Have FUN!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
