Thanks so much ladies for all of the pics and info!! I have to say, I"m a very laid back person, but I do get anxiety about planning this so far away and waiting to pick the places. I trust Sandra and know she's busy, but I really want a private reception and requested that on my Wedding Info sheet, but how do I know I got it?? Hmmm.....

Has anyone done a site visit? We are hopefully planning one this February!

I want to get married at Dreams Tulum in June 2008. I'm getting a little frustrated with trying to set a date and doing it through email. As we all know, it takes a few days to get a response and that is ok because I understand they are busy. But I'm trying to set a date and the date I want isn't available, then in another email a new date isn't available, then another email confirms a date and time, then another email says that 'unfortunately' it isn't available and to pick anothe date. I just want to set a date and it is taking FOREVER! I just sent an email saying 'lets start over...what is avaiable on a saturday at 3pm'.

I was so excited when I thought I had 'set' the date and felt a huge relief off my chest cause it was finally done...date, time, location. But now...it goes on till in a couple days they tell me some more days...then I reply back...couple more days...I won't be setting a date for another week or two. UGH!

Has anyone else had this problem?...how can I make this work better...my anxiety is killing me!

unfortunetly I lucked out!

Sandra and I talked a few months back and set a date for July 07 2008 But Fh had to bump it due to his work... so I emailed her back and asked for Nov 13 2008 and she said all of November was free and it was mine!

sorry i couldnt help...

but I did have a question... Im thinking the date is reserved... but I have yet to see a travel agent and book any thing... How do I garantee a date with Sandra without having yet booked anything? I dont know the next step?

Do I see a travel agent first? get our stuff booked? and then talk to sandra again and tell her the date for certian?

do I need to give her a deposit to secure that date? she's never mentioned it as of yet...

Thanks

Annie, you have just over 2 months to go are you getting excited?? I know I am. Do you know if DT offers fire dancers or anything like that? I have emailed Sandra to find out, but I know she is very busy most of the time so thought you might know. Have you picked your reception location or are you waiting till you get there to do that? Hope your having fun with all the planning I know I am

You need to give Sandra your flight date + reservation to garantee your date...otherwise, someone can "bump" you.

By the way, I changed my user name...not annieroy anymore ! DreamsTulumBride is my new user name !

Only 2 months to go and yes, I can't wait !

See, she emailed me this past week saying that I have successfully booked my date, but I have yet to make my final reservations with our TA! I just filled out all of the paperwork, told her our expected times, and let her know I couldn't make any flight arrangements yet b/c it's too early and they won't allow you to even book flights that far in advance....

I better not get "bumped"! smile41.gif

I 1st started writting to Sandra in June and she said she couldn't reserve the date for me until I booked officially... So I booked in August, my date was still available (but it was noted that I was serious on getting married there...having problems getting a flight at the time).

Maybe since both your wedding are in a year or so, they know you cannot reserve your flight at this present moment. She might just put in her agenda knopwing this (she must be use to this). The moment you get your flight #, tell Sandra! That was you can officially reserve that date and time !

I have no clue if you can reserve fire dancers on your wedding day... they have different shows and each night at 9pm, there is something...who knows what will it be on your wedding day !

I'm hoping on my day, it's not just a beach side movie!!!!

When planning our wedding, I asked Sandra SEVERAL times about Fire Dancers. She always responded that she will check, and never did. I have several e-mails to her where she totally blew me off so we didn't have them. I do know that they have the beach party on Friday nights (it's on the beach over by El Patio) and Fiesta night on Tuesday nights (between El Patio and the smoke shop).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
