I called the # you use to book off their website and they said they had no knowledge of the resort closing or being under investigation. If anyone talks to the actual resort, please post! I'm at work and they wouldn't appreciate the long distance.

I talked to Sandra last week about this. She said they are NOT at risk and asked me to tell everyone on the forum so we wouldn't be freaking out! smile123.gif

Let's just hope it stays that way!

Hi everyone,

I'm still a newbie to this site and I'm having trouble seeing any attachments (for example, I'm trying to find some ballroom pictures, but I don't see any links eventhough other people are viewing and commenting on pictures). Any advice?

I'm getting married on May 7th, 2009 at DT and I'm trying to choose my reception site. I think I'd like to choose one of the ballrooms, but I'd really appreciate seeing some pictures first. If anyone can help, I'd really appreciate it!

Thx!

Yay! It finally worked. I hadn't seen the 2008-2009 wedding guide yet, so it's super helpful. I think we're going to choose one of the ballrooms for our reception site - has anyone chosen this option and been happy with it? We're still in the midst of figuring out our final numbers. Currently, we have ~40 guests booked for our wedding in May. At most, I think our group will be 60 people.

This question may seem silly, but as long as we select either the Dreams of Love or Ultimate wedding package, does this include unlimited complimentary drinks (i.e. alcoholic drinks) during our reception?

Chibi411 had her reception in one of the ballrooms. Her review is here:

From what I've heard you have to pay extra for a bartender for your reception, unless your guests walk to the closest hotel bar (which from the ballroom would be the lobby, which is like a 5 minute walk, too far to ask your guests to go in my opinion)

I may be wrong but I think if you get either one of those packages the drinks are included. At least that's the assumption I'm going on. If not...I'm gunna have to be ready to pay a whole lotta cash (my guests are drinkers). Maybe my drinks are included because our reception is at the seaside grill and the pool bar is right next to it.

Yes I agree, I don't think it would be fair to have our guests walk that far for drinks. Thanks for letting me know! Besides, I don't want too many people coming and going throughout the night (my friends and family are drinkers!). Does anyone happen to know how much a bartender would cost? I think I'm also planning on extending the reception past 10:30 pm, so I think that's an extra fee as well.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
