I was thinking more along the lines of about $800. At least that's more or less what I was quoted at the Paradisus when I went down for a site visit. And since everything is much cheaper at DT I figured it would be less!
Remember, it will also depend on the # of couches, end tables etc etc.
Lets cross our fingers b/c if it is $1500 I don't think I could explain it to my FH.

i ordered my wedding dress today! I didn't want to start a new thread because i don't have pictures, but I'm so excited I had to post about it somewhere!!!

the only thing i'm worried about is that they ordered it in a size 6 (i'm a STREET size 6, but dresses tend to run smaller)...they measured me and checked the designer sizes and should have ordered an 8. But they thought my measurements were so close to being a 6 that they had me try on a size 6 dress by the same designer as my dress since they didn't have a sample of my dress in size 6...anyway, this other size 6 dress was definitely snug, but it zipped and i was able to breathe OK. since i plan to lose some weight anyway and they said ordering the smaller size would cut down on alternation costs, it made the most sense. so now i just need to lose about 5-10 pounds to be really comfortable in my dress, which shouldn't be a problem because it doesn't come in until end of Sept and my wedding isn't until Jan. But the pressure is definitely on!

anyway, i'm excited! woo-hoo!!! smile29.gif

I am thinking that the battery powered LED lights are the way to go (I'm not carrying extension cords to Mexico), but what should I bring to have them stinged up?
They have battery powered paper lanterns at the dollar stores right now!! I just got some at "DollarTree" here in CO, so would think you might have the same chain or a similar one that carries them. They are great, come in bunch of different colors & take small (watch like) batteries to light up!

Here's another place I checked out too, but look at your dollar store!

Thats great! I am so excited to hear what you get back. I would lobe to do it but I can think of some better things to do with $1,500! I hope it is cheaper!!

Also, Neen, I'm in the same boat as you with the dress. The exact same story as you with the size smaller ant the 10 lbs to loose. Only thing my dress comes in Aug 6 and the wedding is Nov 8 so on a tighter deadline at this point. I'm down 2 lbs, only 8 - 10 more to go and I hope it is enouph. I'll keep you posted!

Good luck with yours!!

as a former DT bride (in may 09 also) I was going with 5pm ceremony start time. That was also the time Matt(del sol) suggested for the best lighting for photos.

I got married at 3:15 (it was raining at 3!!!) In December, the sunset is around 5:15. I wanted some time after the wedding for some day light pictures. The time of your wedding all depends on what you want to do after...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
