Hi everyone. I will say that this website is making my life so much easier-although making me work a lot less :)

Anyway-talked to my MIL (my travel agent as well) and she recommends Dreams Tulum-we talked about other places and she said this was the best. I am not sure where to start or how to start planning...any advice would be great. I emailed DT last week and haven't heard back yet...we were thinking about having a reception outside and the cocktail hour-I guess after the dinner is over we can head over to the "disco" for more drinking/dancing...I would love to hear what everyone else is planning

Thanks-

Beth

alright..I'm about to lose my f***ing mind! Travis and I discussed the whole renting out the Seaside grill for our reception with Sandra back in February while on our site visit. We followed up with an email to confirm and she said everything was ready for us....I've been planning everything based on this idea, also based on the prices originally given to us. NOW they are telling me we will have to wait until 1 month prior to reservehuh.gif I haven't asked, but what if there is another wedding on that day that want the same thing? how does that work? I'm really annoyed at the fact that all the details are changing right now. They should keep everything the SAME for those booked, and only start the changes with brides who have yet to book!

brooke, as for the seaside grill..it's awesome! I only have like 22 out of the 50 people invited booked so far...and I think it's the ideal location! it's not overwhelmingly big! I promise to call..this summer has honestly gotten away from me so quickly!!

Have you actually confirmed with Landy that the new policies apply to you even though you were already confirmed? I would explain to her that it's extremely important that you have the seaside grill and that you would not have booked at this resort if you had known that you might have to have your reception elsewhere.

When I got the price list at the beginning of 2008 it was 1800$ for 3 hours (I think ), 2250$ for 5 hours, and I forget the price of the larger package.

EDITED: I am pretty sure it was 1800$ for 3 hours, not 1500$ as initially posted. I think 1500$ was the old price some other brides got (I specially remember 5 hours was approx 2200$ and so it would not have made sense for 3 hours to be 1500$)

I'm right there with ya Trish! I feel your frustration! I sent Landy an email several weeks back and haven't hear from her. I want to believe they will respect the older prices for us since we booked before the new guide came out BUT every page of the older guide says "prices subject to change without prior notice". Soooo, I'm just gunna call her. It's the easiest way to get ahold of them. When I finally get through to them I will let you know what they tell me about the prices and the Seaside Grill ( I'm like you...the only reason I booked at DT was b/c they promised back in Jan I could have my reception there).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
