I haven't heard of a platinum dinner but i did notice the price is different on this new wedding guide for gold dinner. It used to be $55 and now it says $65. They better not up the charge on me now!! ARGH! My guess is the lobster upgrade is the 'platinum'

Sunbride, I think one or two of the new shots in the guide are from your wedding!!! yay! Your famous! smile123.gif

I saw where they increased the price of the gold dinner too...they better not charge me more either! I have been booked since Jan 08. I don't think they would do that , but you never know.

I really like the idea of starting a new thread as well. I keep telling myself when I really start getting all of the details togehter, I will go back through this thread to get all questions answered and get some ideas, but the idea of reading through everything terrifies me!!

Yep, there is one of my ceremony set-up! And we are off on the corner, you can see our videographer with the camera on his unipod and we are all standing in a group (too small to actually recognize anyone though)

Finally they have improved the information! I think the dinner policy is much much clearer now.

So the only options for indoor dinner are
(1) buffet (obviously not private but the only free option for more than 10 people (free package) or 20 people (ultimate or dreams of love package))
(2) ballroom (obviously private)
(3) wine celar at portofino (small, although they don't specify the exact maximum number. I would guess, from having been there, something like 35-40 max)
(4) any of the restaurants if your group is under 25 people
(5) seaside grill / el patio if occupancy is less than 70% (can only be confirmed one month in advance).

It's also nice that they have put more info about the outside options
(1) Terrace of El Patio restaurant
(2) beach
(3) next to the activity pool (between bridge and pool bar)
(4) at the end of the quiet/adults pool

Also interesting they are now saying max 2 weddings per day when it was previously 3

I notice some of the prices increased but nothing dramatic.

Okay, happy to hear everyone likes the idea of starting a new thread. I will try to start compiling all the info, but I have my second AHR next weekend and am flying back to my home town for 10 days with only very slow dial-up so I won't be able to work on it then. So it may take a few weeks. I'll do a first draft and then you ladies can make suggestions for what info I should add to the first page.

Geez, can I just say all this sucks! Sorry to sound so harsh but it seems like things are changing...prices, venues, staff and no one tells us anything! How do I know everything I pre-arranged with Sandra will be respected? What about the prices? I'm getting the ultimate wedding package and am planning to pay for more than the 20 people allowed in the package. But a 10 buck increase per person adds up, especially considering I'm paying $15 pp for a bonfire immediately afterwards!

For the amount of $$$$ my family and I are dropping at the hotel, you'd think they'd be more professional. I have had patience since I chose this resort. Kept from sending emails and essentially planning because I know they are busy. But geez enough is enough! I emailed Landy 8 days ago just to make sure she had all my info. No answer. GRRRRRR.

Sorry ladies. Don't mean to b@&*! Just getting tired of it.

Can't Wait: Don't worry, seriously, I know it is super duper frustrating, but it will all work out. Sandra assured me that Landy had all the specific info that I spent 5 hours with her on. She makes these crazy spreadsheets for each of our weddings with all our wants and desires, times and colors. So Landy must have gotten these from Sandra. I'm getting married in Nov too and I've decided to hold off on communicating with them until the wedding is closer, like 3 or 4 months away. But if you feel uncomfortable with that, you should e-mail Landy and tell her that you are frustrated that you have not heard back from her... I find that the briefer and to the point my e-mails are the faster they respond. When I overwhelm them with lots of questions they don't e-mail me back because it will take them longer. I hope this helps :)

Sunbride, thanks!! The new thread sounds like an excellent idea. Let me know if you need me to send you the pics of the new convention center.

Monica, have a wonderful wedding and I can't wait to see your pictures!!

Good luck to everyone on their wedding planning!!!

Thanks Alin! I do feel better now that my head has hit the pillow! I am not the bridezilla kind at all. I promise. Just got too much info and no confirmation. I'm hoping once the summer is over and our weddings are right around the corner Landy will be more prompt with her communication.

Oh Monica, don't fret (easier said than done, I know). I spent a summer in Mexico doing volunteer work. The forecast could call for rain all day and low and behold not a drop of rain appears. Keep smiling and the sunshine will appear! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! There is always the chapel (unless your group is large) Good luck!

oh thank you :) I'm keepin' my fingers crossed too! Yes, we have a small group so the chapel would be gorgeous if we can't have the beach sad.gif

The times I've been in Mexico when it rains it's usually only for an hour SO I really hope that's all that will happen.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
