DREAMS TULUM brides please post here!

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I have been extremely busy with work and a few other commitments so I haven't been able to post anything (although I have checked in once in a while to see what's going on). I thought that I'd share some correspondence I just received from DT...kind of interesting.

Dear Sandra :

Hi!! This is Sandra Casillas again from the sales department .

With the only purpose to improve our time in answering the emails and give you a timely manner response , I will be working with the wedding department in all the selling process and providing information for all destination weddings , Landy Cahum and Lizet Calvillo will be coordinating the ON SITE weddings and making sure the dream come true J , but they will get all the information that we talk and have it printed in the file so we are all in the same page ,

I should also mention that I replied to Sandra's email with a question I had and she responded within 10 minutes. Perhaps this will make a lot of you feel better, knowing that they are trying to be on top of responses.

Sunbride- I think that's an awesome idea. I find myself getting ready to post a question most days and then try and sift through the thread to see if the question has been asked. Most times I get interrupted or discouraged and just forget about it.

I was thinking of starting a new Dreams Tulum thread (if everyone agrees to let this one die and the new one will be the main one) and on the first page of the thread having all the most frequently asked questions. So often on here we have the brides asking the same questions over and over, which is quite reasonable considering our thread is over 80 pages long and it's hard to find the information, and the thread has existed for so long now (over 6 months!) and so many brides have come and gone and we can't expect the new ones to know all this stuff. Also there is a lot of little discussions that would be pretty boring for a new person to have to shift through to find the info (don't get me wrong, I love the little discussions, hellos, "thank yous", "you look beautiful" type comments, etc, but the most important information is getting lost in the midst of all that.

So what do you think of the idea of starting a new thread where all the most FAQs are on the first page, as well as links to everone's reviews and pictures (i.e. we wouldn't have to have the seperate thread "list of Dreams Tulum brides") I will take responsibility for continually updating the first page as people ask new questions and answers in the thread. So the new thread would look exactly like this one (i.e. we can continue with all our semi-useless little discussions) but would have a super helpful and informative first page. So hopefully this would cut down on a lot of the repetitive questions.

Let me know what you think.

I don't want to see this thread die before reaching 100 pages though, and it will take a little while to compile all the info to start the new thread, so it could be done sometime in the next few weeks.

Alternatively, if we don't like the idea of starting a new thread (it would be sad to see this one die, especially since it's probably the longest thread on BDW!!!!) I could just do a seperate thread called "Dreams Tulum FAQ" and we could refer new brides there, but they are much less likely to see it, as it will be way in the back of the forum. We'd have to keep re-posting the link in this thread. As much as I hate to see this thread die, I think it would be better to have everything all in one place.

Let me know what you think! (oops, said that already, haha)
Love that idea! Count my vote as a definite yes!!

Thank u for telling us about this! It definitely sounds very encouraging. Especially if Sandra wrote back within 10 minutes! I emailed the regular wedding dept address 8 days ago and haven't heard back. Lets hope things going forward will be different.

Yea, sure I'll ask her. For about how many people? I'm sure she will ask that.

Also, wanted to know if anyone has gotten any email from Landy. I sent her an email exactly seven days ago and got nothing but her automated response.

Do you happen to have Landy's email? I need to contact her and double check everything is still in order with my wedding (since I was dealing with Sandra and had NO idea she's in a new position)! Thanks

I love the idea of the FAQ thread! We must also promise to keep the new one alive like this one!!

I haven't heard of a platinum dinner but i did notice the price is different on this new wedding guide for gold dinner. It used to be $55 and now it says $65. They better not up the charge on me now!! ARGH! My guess is the lobster upgrade is the 'platinum'

Sunbride, I think one or two of the new shots in the guide are from your wedding!!! yay! Your famous! smile123.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
