DREAMS TULUM brides please post here!

Sunbride - yet another question about qualifying for the free package. What grade of room did you book to get the freebie? Did you have to book the higher rate room because what I've read says you have to book a minimum Jr. suite? Thanks so much for helping with the newsletter switch. You really go above and beyond for all of us and it is very much appreciated.

Give them a few days, but then if you still haven't heard anything back and are getting anxious try phoning them. It might take a few tries to get them since they aren't always in their office, but if you do get a hold of them at least you'll get your answer right away.

Well before we decided on the Dreams Tulum we were intouch with a fantastic lady who has her own destination wedding business with her cousin that lives in playa del carmen. Her pics were breathtaking, there is a facebook group called Barefoot Weddings or her website it barefootweddings.ca and everything she did was beautiful....exactly my style and exactly what we want.

It was just a though.

Question for anyone married at DT already- what does the 'standard' place setting look like? I'm curious about the linens, dishes, etc? Do they use a runner? I feel like I havent really seen that. If anyone can describe or post a pic, that would be AWESOME! I'm trying to determine what i need to make/bring. Obviously not dishes though:) THANK YOU!

Good question Amy! I haven't seen any of these things either. I'm wondering if they have some sort of catalog where we can pick and choose similar to the flower one. Also, does anyone have any experience using the "live band" from the resort? I'd be interested in hiring a live band as opposed to a DJ but not sure if they are good.

The standard place setting does not have an overlay/runner, you have to pay extra (as per the wedding info guide). So it's just a white table cloth, white plate, wine glass and champagne glass. The centerpieces on my table were things I had brought (candle holders, which we couldn't light because the flame kept being blown out by the wind!) and the free bouquet included in the package (which I didn't use since I had brought articificial flowers with me).

I had meant to upgrade to color napkins to add a little color, but forgot. The cost is only 1$ each.

In my case the chairs were pulled over from the ceremony, so they had the nice bows and starfish I had on the back. But if you are in a restaurant other than the seaside grill I assume they won't pull your chairs over, it would be a bit far. Since there were only enough chairs on the beach for the guests (not Bride and groom) they set-up to more chairs with flowers for us.

Even though the seaside grill is usually small round tables, they did set us up with a huge rectangular table, which was good since we were only 10 When we ate there as a group the first night we were at 2 of the small round tables pushed together and it was so uncomfortable. So I was happy that wasn't the case for our wedding dinner.

The table setting wasn't something that was a big concern for me, so I let them do whatever they wanted, with the expection of my starfish that they put around their center pieces.

We didn't take a pic of the table (I don't think), but of people at the table, so I don't think I have any good pics.

Here's a few:

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
