Def. more of a disco. Yes, there is a DJ. There was also a hipmotis (sp?) there one night - which was pretty entertaining! I must add that the disco is what you make of it......if I haven't already said this.....it was so dead every night we were there until we (my entire group of around 20ish) got there and started selecting the music to be played. THEN it would liven up!

Thanks LisaG, that's exactly what I wanted to know, and what I had heard before (about it being lame unless you started the party). There are only 5 of us young ones going but hopefully there will be other ones too who can help get the party going.

I wonder why they call it a sports bar if it's really a discohuh.gif??

I'm getting married on a Friday. That will be awesome if they still have the Fiesta night on Fridays! That could entertain us after dinner for a while then move the group to the disco and we can get the party started bunny_4.gif

I just got back from a site visit (will post review soon) but its more like a disco. we went one night and they had a live band. Was a lot of fun! I would definintely say teh atmosphere was more disco than sports bar. i didn't see any sports reference anywhere to be honest.

We had the Carribean Trio - it was part of our package. They played for our cocktail hour - it was a really nice addition. We actually had 4 people show up. Here's a pic.......

Fiesta night... well, people have a wonderful (but cold) meal on the beach - there will be about 25 tables of 8 and the the entertainement crew will entertain everyone b ehind the quite pool. BUT I MUST WARN YOU... very sexual type games; but it's sometimes funny ! I was there 2 weeks so I got to go twice but to tell you the truth, Thursdays are better...fire show by the pool.

The shows usually start around 9 pm (from 8 to 9, it's the kids entertainement) and ends around 10-10:30.

You will notice that it's the same staff form 9 am to 10 pm ! They work all day, that is why their bodies are amazing ! They entertain you by the pool during the day and after super they do all the shows as wells (but they put on costumes)! Same thing for the kids club ! They work 13 hour a day / 7 days a week! Again, I was their 2 weeks and on the final day, I asked the person in charge why I got to see them everyday... she told me that is how it works in the tourist industry (hotels). I hope they get paid alot for not seing their families... By the time they get home, they probably just want to go to bed!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
