Plans keep changing creating stress

Hey Ladies

First off last week it was all planned that me and my fiance would be getting married in the Punta Cana..... Symbolic wedding) as we were guna do a city hall thing here and a few family members were supposed to accompany us to Punta Cana....

But now my father wants me to have a traditional wedding here ( at his cost) So that all my family can attend.....

But a ceremony in Dominican on the beach is what I have always dreamed off.

So I need some opinions....

Should I do a formal wedding here and then just do a ceremony in Dominican for me and my spouse to enjoy....

Or should I give up on my dream and not do a ceremony at all in Dominicanhuh.gif

Thanks

~nikki~

Don't give up on your dream! Does your father really want you to have the traditional ceremony or would he be happy with an AHR? I think most brides that have an AHR (I plan on doing an AHP (at home party)) do so to allow family members and friends that can't make the DW an opportunity to celebrate with the couple. You could even wear your wedding dress to the AHR... I hope your father would go for that option, so you can have your dream but still give him what he wants.

This is your wedding and not your fathers. Have you explained to him that this is what you've dreamed of for your wedding? I'm sure he'd nderstand and an AHR would be just as good. My aunt and uncle are throwing us an AHP (against my wishes) for those that can't attend and I have now accepted this and am getting the wedding video taped for those that can't be there and will show it at the party.

This is your day. Don't let anyone take it away from you.

+1. He's had his already! wink.gif

However, I do understand where he is coming from. If you don't want to do an at home reception, consider hosting a party to celebrate your legal wedding at civil hall. Maybe something that's not as extravangant as an at home reception but not as low key as just a few ppl standing in the room while you go through the civil ceremony...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
