Iberostar Punta Cana/Dominicana

Recommended Posts

I am about to book my wedding at the Iberostar Punta Cana. I have had trouble finding reviews of this resort. So, has anyone been there or gotten married there?

We plan on staying at the Iberostar Punta Cana one week and then going to the Iberostar Bavaro for the second week (honeymoon week). Our guests will all stay at the Iberostar PC.

As of yet I don't have any info on the ROV package or reception options etc. So if anyone has any info to provide, it would be much appreciated!

I emailed the WC today, so am anxously awaiting the info.

I am getting married there in 40 days (!!!!!!). I have been working with Yoselina. She is a little slow in responding to e-mails, but still really helpful. If you send me a PM with your e-mail address, I will forward the ceremony and reception options. Let me know if you have questions about the hotel, as well. I have stayed there 11 times!!!

Hi!

I just wanted to say that Yoselina and Magalis are both really great!

We got married at IBPC last year in August and while I've had major computer issues, now that they have been resolved, I really need to post a review.

I was so frustrated because I thought they were slow via e-mail, too! But they were so awesome during our entire trip!

First we started with a hurricane that didn't let us land in the DR until after sunset and meant we didn't get to our hotel until close to 11PM on the night before our wedding! BOTH Magalis AND Yoselina stayed until after midnight to sit with us and get everything set up for us. I honestly couldn't be happier with them!

We ended up moving our rehearsal from the day of arrival to the morning of the wedding and I changed my flower order the morning of the wedding (to include additional guests of honor) and no one batted an eye.

The property is gorgeous and we had a terrific time. Now that I think about it, I should totally post a review and photos! I will see if I can do something this week!

Congratulations to everyone on their upcoming weddings! They are going to be gorgeous!

I am getting married at the Iberostar Dominicana in January 2011, for those of you who have gotten married at either the Dominicana or Punta Cana, would you please mind letting me know what you did for your reception/dance (we have underage kids coming & dont want to move our party into the Disco - which the kids aren't old enough to go to).

Also, did you use the resort photographer??

Our wedding is at 4pm & we have dinner booked at the steak house at 7pm - I'm thinking of reserving the whole restaurant-  but we aren't 100% we will have enough people.

What date are you getting married?  I am booked for January 17th at 4pm.  I read somewhere that they only do one wedding per day, which is nice!  I haven't booked a restaurant yet, but I was also thinking the steak house.  Have you seen any pictures of it?

I am also wondering what to do after the dinner.  It's tough finding info on this place isn't it?

Have you decided on what flowers, cake, etc you want?  The WC sent me a form to fill that out but didn't show me too many choices, so I am wondering if I should decide all of that when I get there.

I emailed someone who posted about thier wedding on tripadvisor to see if they could send me some info.  Their post was from 2006 so I don't know if I will hear back.  If I do I will let you know.

I emailed the wc a few days ago to see who they recommend for photographers and also what the charge is to bring in an outside photographer.  I haven't heard back yet.

I feel like we made a good choice with the Iberostar. People seem to love it on trip advisor.

I just got married at the Iberostar Dominicana.  You made the best choice possible!  Yoselina and Magalis are a dream to work with.  Be prepared to be treated like royalty your entire stay.  Those ladies can make anything happen.  We got married at the gazebo on the beach and then rented the disco for 3 hours.  Feel free to e-mail me at [email protected] with any questions or for pictures!

Congrats pujbride!!  Glad everything went well!

Which restaurant did you go to for supper?  I'm thinking of doing the steakhouse, but not sure if that's the best choice.  How many people did you have with you?  Did you enjoy having the disco for the 3 hours?

I wonder if they'd be able to play some of our wedding songs at the steakhouse?  Do you know if there is space there to do a couple dances??

Thanks for the info!!

Hey Ladies,

I'm getting married on January 11, 2011 at the Iberostar Dominicana & we're having approx 35-45 ppl with us (incl several kids under 16). I'm thinking of taking to Yoselina about the possibility of reserving the restaurant & getting a place where we can have our dance/party without having to use the disco (the kinds under 16 wont be allowed into the Disco). I've heard a number of brides have used an ipod with playlists & bring your own speaker docking station.

As far as other decisions go, I filled out the form that Yoselina sent with choices & am looking into what to use for photography, are you going to hire a photographer? & if so, are you going to use the hotel photographer?

I definitely recommend La Sibila the gourmet restaraunt. It's not outside like the others but it's the nicest restaraunt and even though it's a lobster place, you can get steak there. The other's are more "picnic-y" Also, they don't really know how to cook steak there, it was usually over-cooked. I was not impressed with the steakhouse.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
