Also what time was your ceremony the day of your wedding and what time did you have your hair/makeup done? im trying to figure out when i should schedule mine...i read that you missed your cocktail hour sad.gif my fiance and i really want to be a part of ours so were scheduling our ceremony at 3 and our cocktail hour not till 4:30..do you think this will give us enough time to take our pics? and last question...where did you get the marraccas from? thanks so much and Congratulations! Glad I can help!!

Alcohol is included because it is an all-inclusive resort. Now, if you are paying a la carte, the food is a separate charge. My husband chose all the food and if Iâ€m not mistaken, it was the Caribbean buffet for the welcome dinner. Some of the seafood didnâ€t look appealing, but it was delicious!

Our ceremony took place at 4 and the cocktail was schedule from 4:30-6 (most guest arrived at 5 though because we were all taking photos). Our photo session with the resort photographer took about an hour and then I hired my own personal photographer and we spent an additional 30+ minutes with him. You should have plenty of time. Allocate some time to freshen up after the cocktail party. You will be sweaty Betty! Luckily my make-up artist had his touch-up items with him and it only took a quick minute. Cameras will be flashing as you enter the reception and you want to look refreshed. A good idea would be to delegate one of your friends to carry some items in her purse for you.

I started my day off with a 9 oâ€clock massage (took an hour) and then headed up to the suite to get ready. I started make-up (airbrush) at 11:30 then started with my hair. My hair is long and thick so it took about an hour and fifteen minutes to complete. Make-up took about 30-45 minutes. My make-up artist did all of our make-up (myself, 2 MOHâ€s and my mom). My hairstylist did everyoneâ€s hair too. We finished with about 20 minutes to spare. This was mainly bc I had 2 people doing 4 people each. So if you have them scheduled with different people you should be fine. I would recommend pre-ordering food, champagne or whatever else you want in your room when youâ€re getting ready. Room service took an hour and half to bring up our food. We were starving! Make sure you eat something! You will need the energy!!

I had a friend from Mexico make them for me. They were pretty cool! If anything, they have markets in Playa and Tulum that you could go to and buy some. The Tulum market was definitely cheaper than the Playa one. He used a silver metallic marker to write our names on them which looked great.

I also learned that you canâ€t sweat the small stuff. If something doesnâ€t go the way you planned, you have to just let it go. This night goes by so fast that you donâ€t want to waste time on the small stuff. Make sure you sit back every once in awhile and savor the moments!

My husband and I bought a journal while we were at the market once we were on our honeymoon and started to jot down memories that we had about the whole weekend. He had some totally different stories than I did and it was great to reminisce. We didnâ€t want the weekend to end!!

Thank you!!
Kimberly

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
