Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

Hubby and I got married Feb. 2 2010 in Cozumel and we are having an at home wedding celebration party in July for those who could'nt come to Cozumel (and those who came too !!)

I am struggling with what kind of gift we could give to our guests at our AHR. We are having an outdoor, tropical theme party at a campgound.....any ideas ladies huh.gif also any ideas on activities we could do at the party...starting at

2PM ending at ....huh.gif?

My creative juices are running low after spending months on DIY invites, OOT bags etc for our actual wedding and I knew this was the place to come to get ideas for our AHR.

Thanks for your help,

Julie

We're having our AHR at a brewery & the glasses that everyone will use for the beer will be the gift. We had glass beer mugs made with a personalized logo on them. Since you're having an outdoor party, you could have personalized plastic stadium cups made &/or koozies. Both could be used during the party & taken home as a souvenir.

I like food favors, they never get wasted! I'm having a BBQ (it's kinda expected in Texas) so I'm giving away little personalized bottles or BBQ sauce. If your doing tropical you can give away some tropical themed cookies (maybe flower shaped sugar cookies or something with macadamia nut it it) in cute packages. Since your going to Mexico some kind of hot sauce or spicy seasoning would be nice and you can always put your own sticker on it.

Great thread topic - I hope to hear some ideas as I too am now wondering what to do.

Not to hyjack your thread or anything, but I too wonder what can be done. My FMIL is planning a pre-wedding AHR back in Ontario (FI hometown) for all the people that cant come to the wedding. We live in ALberta, so its not like they could come to our AHR either. So I am also stuck as to what we should be giving them...especially bc its even before the wedding....lol

Bring on the ideas ladies...we need some creative help!

What about a smores kit? Create a cute little box with some crackers, marshmellows, and chocolate and then attach the recipe on the back of a thank you card. That could be super cute and go with the low key campground idea.

Love the smores kit! It fits in with the campground. I just noticed marshmallow roasting sticks at Target in their $1 section. Any other type of food favor will be appreciated by your guests. The cups and koozies idea was cute too!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
