My mom bought me my dress. My fiancé and I are paying for the wedding. I'm her only daughter and my mom never really had a "wedding". Very grateful that she is doing that. I knew I didn't want an expensive dress since it would be in the beach so nothing too fancy. I made her laugh when I told her I needed another dress for my ttd. :)

I am still in the planning stages but my mom is retiring this year after 35 years, and my brothers were asking what she's going to do with her retirement/pension stuff and she said one of the first things I want to be able to do is buy Annie's wedding dress.. I was like omg! I was totally planning to get it myself.. but this will be a very nice help. Mind you, I was never planning to spend more then like $1000-$1200 on the dress (and if I can find a nice one for like $500-$600 I'll go that route), and I'm not planning to go over that now. Now there has been a little bit of discussion because she likes me in a certain style of dress which is NICE but I really want to explore this other style... we'll see.. it's a 10 hour drive from our house to the nearest David's Bridal.. who have a dress on their site now that I have to try.. lol

Don't feel bad because I know the feeling. Majority of our families are the same way. The only reason my mother is coming is because I am paying for it. angry.gifconfused.gif Otherwise she would be at home wanting to see pictures when we got back. So far she has not given any $$$$$, but wants to invite everyone under the sun the the shower. rolleyes.gifangry.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
