Which would you choose Breezes Runaway Bay, Gran Bahia Principe, or Riu ochos rios

Recommended Posts

another gran bahia bride to be here! we're getting married in november 2010 and leaving from toronto, our group rate was $1400. ive seen some pics from another bride on this forum of the gazebo and it looks absolutely beautiful! price wise it was cheaper than the riu, but also kid friendly which was one of our requirements.

good luck!

Im getting married this December at Breezes Runaway Bay. We thought it was the best option for us/ our group. We wanted a very authentic Jamaican hotel. My soon to be mother-in-law stayed there a couple years ago and had the best time of her life! We are really looking forward to it! So far the coordinators have been easy to work with, and reserving the day/time was a breeze for us! Haha, no pun intended... It's also very afordable, and I have heard and saw pics on tripadvisor that they have a great coral reef right off the beach there to snorkel at. I can't wait to go! Good luck!

My FI and I visited Jamaica this past September for vacation/site visits.  We stayed at the Riu Ocho Rios and had a great time.  They have beautiful wedding ceremony locations however they weren't for us.  The beach gazebo was too causal and exposed to everyone on the beach and the gazebo at the lagoon wasn't tropical enough since the gazebo faces the resort.  So while saying your vows guests can watch from their balcony.  We were also supposed to visit the Gran Bahia but the wedding planner left early so we were unable to see the resort:(  But after reviewing pictures and the different options for the reception we decided to go with the Gran Bahia!!!  It has the ceremony location that faces the beach that we wanted and the options that they offer are really affordable.  We are expecting at least 100 people to attend so we want to get has much as we can for our budget. Iâ€m still a numbie so I canâ€t post any pictures but if you send me a personal message with your email address I can send you the link to my pictures of the resort.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
