Untraditional Bachelorette Party...

Recommended Posts

okay gals. I have some time on this, but I'm curious as to what you have or will be doing for your bachelorette party??

All of my friends are married and/or have kids so none of them are much into partying hard, going to bars/clubs, etc... Plus, I'm not really into this so much. I mean I like to go out and drink on occasion but I don't frequent this scene. So I am thinking of a more laid back bachelorete party.

I really just want all my friends together and I would like us all to spend the night together and don't really care what we do but I thought I would get some ideas on what else is out there besides going out to clubs??

When we went to the bridal show last month, there was a chef there who offered custom cooking classes/wine tastings for bachelorette parties. I hadn't really thought about it until then, but I thought that was a really cool idea because most of the people who would be at my bachelorette party are all huge foodies! :)

There was also another guy at the show who had a large sailboat and offered private dinner charters in the evening ($40 per person). I thought that would be another cool idea...

I have lots of different things I like to do, and lots of friends who don't like the same things. We had a pre-bachelorette party at a race track in June ... we are going camping another time ... renting a lake house for another ... and going out for the "downtown" bachelorette thing in Charleston SC for another. All different girls and a few of the same. Not my idea but friends want to do different things and it works cos I like them all ... so it will be several small bachelorette parties as opposed to one big one. Out of town friends will be able to come to which ever they can since they are all indifferent places ... and I have more parties than I could hope foe. I LOVE my BM's!!!!

I will not be much help... we are waiting until we are in Cancun and will have all of our friends that want and can go out have dinner together and then go to some clubs the Thursday night before we get married. So I guess it's untraditional because it's all of us, not just girls... most of our close friends don't live here, which is one reason we are having a DW!

Hey Tami (foxytv), my sister got married at Spiegel Farms in Campobello last April. We did their joint bachelor/bacheorette outing in downtown Greenville. Hmmm, Wild wings maybe then a dance club down the street. We had a great time!

I had a slumber party too and it was a blast!! Also when we got to Mexico we had a co-ed bach. party at at club which was nice because we partied together. We've been together so long we didn't need the "last hurrah" night.

I understand not wanting to do the traditional thing. I didn't want to watch a stripper dance for me when I could be home with Will (but I don't like strippers anyway). Our friends didn't get it at first but they went with it and we all had fun. Make it your own and you'll have a memorable occasion :o)

My friends and I got dressed up went to a local upscale club, had apps and drinks. It was low key and fun. The wackiest thing that happened was that we were playing the bachelorette dare game and i had to pinch the bouncer's butt and say "is this seat taken?" too funny. The club party planner made me and she promised me that the bouncer Pablo would be good natured about it and think nothing of it. It was just a really nice opportunity to bond with the ladies.

Hey Paula! you must have gone to 221 or Blu Martini for dancing after Wild Wings! Heck I probably even saw you at some point -- I'm out wwaayy too often. friday.gif That's cool you've been here to Greenville. It's a pretty fun downtown.

We might do a joint bachelor/bachelorette weeked at the beach or somethng too -- we really love spending time together and we are pretty big parties ... but neither of us care about the strippers and such. We just like doing shots together. shots.gif hehe.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
