Off Site Reception in Playa del Carmen

Recommended Posts

Hi there, I tried searching the forum for "off site receptions" but didn't see anything not related to a specific resort.

We are getting married at the Grand Riviera Princess in December, and are now thinking about having our reception off site, at a restaurant, or possibly on a sunset cruise. Does anyone have any recommendations? Our group will be about 50 - 60 people, and we are looking to have dinner, an open bar, and an area for dancing and speeches.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Angie we are having our reception at Kool Beach Club KOOL - Restaurant bar by playa tukan it has all the above

We are also having our welcome dinner at Wickys which would also make a wonderful location for a reception Untitled

And also there is Mosquito Blue Playa Del Carmen Hotels | Mexico Resorts | Mosquito Blue Hotel & Spa, Playa Del Carmen, Mexico

HI Angie,

there are sooooo many endless options for off-site receptions in the area it is not even funny!

If you are interested in a sunset cruise, you could try Paradise Catamarans (Sail, swim, snorkel, parasail, and enjoy the Mayan Riviera with Paradise Catamarans. Our private catamaran charters make every outing a memorable event. do seem to have done weddings before.

Or you could check out some of the restaurants/beach clubs in Playa Del Carmen (i.e. Kool Beach Club, Casa del Agua, YaxChe to name but a very few). Cruise the Mayan Riviera forum and I am sure you'll be inspired by other brides unique reception locations.

Good luck & have fun researching!

Just wanted to price it out. At the GRP for a private beach party reception (dinner + open bar) it is $85 per person, and we thought we'd see if we held our reception off site if it would be cheaper. But actually looking into it, once you pay for set up/take down, open bar, dinner, centerpieces, etc. it is more than keeping it on the resort. So after all of this, I think we'll stick with the GRP :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
