T&C brides! Where to do this?

Recommended Posts

This site is amazing with such a wealth of info... and I'm totally overwhelmed! We def want to say 'I do" in T&C.. but where to stay? We're looking at next summer, and I know it's early, but I need to have a dollar figure so I can begin to save, and sell, and beg... hahaha j/k. It will be just the 2 of us, so this is not an elaborate ordeal by any means. Beaches is a great choice mainly b/c it's AI. The other resorts look amazing too... I want to be within walking distance to shops and restaraunts for sure. My main question being, does anyone have a spreadsheet they've compiled comparing the resorts that they would be willing to share? Also, I've found that the minimal wedding packages on the resorts are outrageously expensive. All I want is an officiant, someone to handle the paperwork, and maybe a bottle of champagne. Pics by TI are where I want to spend my money.... so amazing. Anyone have experience customizing the wedding packages? Any other brides that did a ceremony for just the 2 of you with advice/recommendations?

Thanks in advance for your opinions!

Hi there, so I would say roughly it is going to cost about $1200/pp depending on where you stay and perhaps the time of year. I am getting married at the Somerset on Grace Bay and it costs each of my guests roughly $1200 to attend (air and hotel for 4 days/3nights). At the Somerset there is an Intimate Vows package which is $2800 which includes wedding services of a coordinator, officiant, processing of legal documentation and mailing of marraige license, choice of ceremony and reception location, pre-ceremony set-up, bottle of champagne, in suite couples massage, bridal bouquet and groom boutonniere and wedding cake.

There are however other planners on the island that can probably offer something along the lines of what you are looking for. Look into Diane at Island Harmony.

Also Krys Mann from TI is on the site and is an invaluable source of info for anyone even considering T&C. Here is a link to one of her threads where she discusses the difference between several resorts.

I think if you search through all the T&C threads you'll be able to find exactly what you are looking for. Good luck and don't hesitate to ask any questions.

Hi and welcome,

We have so many different options in the T&C that it would help to know other than a simple ceremony, what else you are looking for in your stay. If you really want AI then Beaches or the new Veranda resort would be the only options (Club Med is also AI but is more of a singles club med so I wouldn't recommend it for a weddingmoon)

You have also mentioned being able to walk to shops, restaurants etc, so with that comment, one of our other resorts that are condo style ( where you can eat out or in depending on your day as well as try out different restaurants on island) may be the place for you. We have a lot of price points on the island so think about what you envision your day and your holiday to be and maybe we can point you in the right direction...(lots of people around and activity or do you want secluded and quiet )(lots of activities offered or just relaxing with each other).

The other option available would be renting a villa to give complete privacy and getting married there.

Check out some of the threads on the T&C and don't hesitate to give me a shout to give you some ideas. You can also check out our wedding section on our blog and ask away!

Congratulations!!!

Krys

Hi there!!! Welcome to the forum!

We were married at Beaches T&C this past January and I think it was perfect. The wedding is free and comes with a lot of fun little bonuses and you can add on and such! Definitely contact me if you have any questions. T&C is becoming more popular...so much fun and gorgeous!!!!!!! The whole island is really nice!

If it's going to just be the 2 of you, I would def look at Beaches since the wedding is included with the cost of the resort, plus the resort looks amazing. I haven't read one review where a bride came back from Beaches and didn't just love the resort! We are having a very small wedding as well (just parents and siblings) and I just couldn't justify spending thousands of extra dollars for a big wedding package.

thanks very much you guys... i didn't realize the wedding was free with a concierge level room @ beaches. that def makes a difference. the wedding packages at other resorts were outrageous... it's hard to justify that price for just 2 people. as much as i would love to stay at a quiet little villa, i think beaches may be our best (financial) option. i agree, every bride seems to rave about beaches, and that makes a huge difference.

thanks again ladies!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
