Things I need to know about PV

Recommended Posts

Like I posted over in the Newb section, I'm new to the boards.

I would like to get some information on PV and the surrounding area. Like things to do while we're there on a site visit and eventually for our wedding. My fiance, Jaime (JaimeLynne) and I have got a rough itenerary for our site visit coming up(Aug 20-24th).

Any help will be GREATLY appreciated!

Welcome to the forum Martin.

I'll be going to PV this fall for my wedding as well. So far we got a fishing trip planned and we will be doing the canopy tours. Never done them before but I hear they are amazing!!

Thanks for your help. I would like to know where there is to do while Jaime and I are there for our site visit. I guess like hotels to see for the actual wedding and also for places to stay.

We're really looking at the westin for a place to stay (both on the site visit and for the wedding) and the Mayan for the actual cerimony. But just in case those places don't work for us...where should we look? I know there are dozens of places to have the wedding and/or to stay...I just don't know where to start.smile43.gif

Since you're staying at the Westin you'll definitely go to Nikki Beach because it's on site (club). Beautiful place with beds and pillows on the beach, drinks aren't cheap so if you wanna save $$ keep a bottle in your room to get tipsy before heading down to the club . . .haha. If I stayed there that's what I would have done.

My standard PV endorsements are: Zoo Bar - don't miss it if you're party people. Barcelona Tapas for excellent food & views. Rhythyms of the Night dinner tour to Las Caletas OR day tour to Las Caletas

For wedding sites try to contact a few places in advance and see if you can set up meetings. Besides what you mentioned, maybe Velas Vallarta, Dreams, Las Caletas, Marriott Casamagna....our PV resident can probably give you more info.

Have you considered a wedding at a private home? That was what we were doing until we found Las Caletas. I have tons of that info saved if you want it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
