I never thought of a Do-Not-Play list...

Personally though, I disagree with you all. I think all those songs - YMCA, Chicken Dance and Macarena - are great wedding reception songs because though they're silly and stupid, *everybody* knows them, most people like them, AND it gets people up off their feet - which is kinda what you want right?

I have a photo from my sister's wedding last summer of a whole bunch of us, ranging from my own 6 and 9 year old daughters, 11 year old cousins to my 70 year old grandfather in a circle doing the Chicken Dance and every single person in the photo is smiling!

Similarly, I have a photo from my mom's wedding in 2005 of a bunch of us doing the Macarena and again, age ranges from about Tween to Grandpa, and all are smiling and laughing too. They're just fun and silly and puts people in the mood to get up and dance and have fun!

Just no inappropriate rap songs which will probably be almost all of them.  I'm with HazelsMelody...I think Macarena and a few others would get people dancing because they are silly songs and lots of fun.  I don't know the Cupid shuffle though.  Will have to look it up.

I'm kind of in love with the cupid shuffle,  I will also definitely be having that on my play list as well as the Cleveland shuffle.

I am absolutely DO NOT WANT any interactive songs such as Macarena, YMCA, any of the slides etc.  I HATE all them.  I worked in weddings for years and these songs drive me insane.  I think a wedding should have a great mix of music and should get everyone up on dance floor but these songs just don't cut it for me.  I mean its a wedding not a senior center dance.

(I am sorry if I offended anyone but after working over 500 hundred weddings I can go without hearing these songs for the rest of my life)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
