Hi Ladies,

I was wondering if anyone had incorporated any traditional Filipino weding traditions into their civil wedding.

Since I am not haveing a church wedding, much to the dismay of many of my devout Catholic relatives, I wanted to try and include some of the traditions like cord, veil and coins into our ceremony.

I would love to hear any thoughts on this or if this is purely mass ceremony specific.

I think you could probably do the cord ceremony without too much trouble, it's much like unity candle ceremony. Just be sure to ask the officiant well in advance.

I would suggest doing the cord and veil ceremonies... both easy to do and a nod to Filipino tradition.
