Cabo wedding favors

Recommended Posts

You may want to consider hitting up the marketplace for something uniquely Mexican - hand-painted masks, talavera (hand-painted pottery) pieces such as shot glasses, candy dishes, salsa servers, etc. or vintage lime squeezers, maracas (not all that original but definitely Mexican!), tiles-turned-coasters by placing cork squares on them, etc. You could also provide recipes for authentic Mexican salsas and sauces and provide your guests with a molcajete (google it). Lots of great ideas out there!

Also, your wedding date qualifies for our first Mexican-themed invitation giveaway (check it out at our blog link below) if you are really into setting the tone for a unique Mexican celebration (and haven't already purchased invites)!

Good luck! Let us know what you decide on!

tiles as coaster is super a cute idea! I am leaning towards doing something unique to cabo/mexico too. all ideas are appriciated! I am still debating if we need to do big welcome bags or not?

Mpeters - where are you getting married? I am booked at the Riu Santa Fe for Oct 15, 2011! Congrats!

Hi, I'm a Riu Palace bride-to-be!  My wedding is in April 2011.

Coasters are great because people can easily bring them home with them, and I love the idea of buying something that is authentic right from Cabo.

For favors, we're planning on getting personalized shotglasses made in our wedding colours (purpley-blue and silver), with Cabo, the date, and a starfish on them.  We're doing a starfish theme (with diamond accents) so for seating placecards I'm ordering 4-5" finger starfish in the purpley-blue colour and tying the white nametags on with silver ribbon.

I wanted to do welcome bags, but with the number of guests we're having, we can't afford to anymore, since we have to pick and choose what we go ahead with.  If you do welcome bags Murphie310, what are you thinking of putting in them?

Hi MrsKellytobe!

Sun screen, chapstick, deck of cards...very simple items.  Or we might just do a nice tote bag that they can use for the beach with nothing in it.  We also want to put colored fans on the chairs at the ceremony.  use those two items as the "gifts"

We havent figured out how to hand them out yet.  I do know some hotels will hold them in the back for you and pass them out when your guests check in.  I read on here that some couples met thier guests as they arrived at the hotel, got a list of arrival times from thier travel agent, thats a nice touch but a lot of work!  I was going to ask if they could be placed in the rooms prior to arrival since a lot of hotels block off a certain section of the hotel for your guests.  I really just have a lot of questions too!

We are planning on a large number of guests so we might not be able to afford it either.  We shall see.

I like the starfish theme...I am thinking dolphins.

One of the things I'm doing is paper fans that will be placed on the seats of my wedding guests in orange/fuchsia since it will be hot and I'm from Seattle and my guest aren't really used to that cheesy.gif as they say...People from Seattle don't tan, they rust!...

I'm also thinking of ordering customized ribbon w/ Rory and I's name on it to tie at the bottom. The WC is going to place them on the seats for the ceremony in alternating colors.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
