Items for OOT Bags

Recommended Posts

Hey again!

I am looking for the following items for my OOT bags:

So far, I know that I want to give the following:

-Appleton Rum nips

-a sample of Blue Mountain Coffee and hisbiscus tea

-sarongs for the ladies

-bruni fans (between 10 to 14 inches)

-mini football and soccer balls for the guys

-bite size rum cakes

-mini alcoholic/non-alcoholic drink books

Is it better to buy the appleton rum nips at the airport or to order them from the company itself? What about the Blue Mountain coffee?

Thanks in advance!!!

Hi Tani!! With regards to the Appleton Rum favors there was a thread previously posted on it, from it you can go back and get the info from the other ladies:

With regards to the sarongs I suggest: Sarongs - Turtle Island Imports

I got my sarongs from them and they were very reasonable. I bought 25 and I wrote them an email and negotiated a better price.

For the mini rum cakes if appleton doesn't have any might I suggest TortugaRumcakes.com - Tortuga Rum Co. Ltd the company is owned by friends of mine and I can assure you the cakes are fantastic!!!!

The drink books you can get from Amazon. There is a bartending for dummies and another cocktails for dummies which many of the ladies include. Or sometimes at Target you can find them in the $1 section.

You can also pick up the footballs/soccer balls at Target or the dollar store.

As for the other items I am not sure but I am sure other ladies will be able to make suggestions. Good luck!

    • I have stayed at Dreams La Romana and Dreams Dominicus.  The two resorts are very different in style and decor. A few comparison points are below and fact sheets are attached for both.   Both resorts are approx 45 minutes from Punta Cana airport, close proximity to Saona Island, Catalina Island and Altos de Chavon. Top championship golf courses in the Caribbean are just minutes away including Teeth of the Dog, Dye Fore, The Links and La Estancia – all designed by world-famous Pete Dye. Restaurants are similar at both resorts.  Both offer the Explorers Club for Kids.  Dreams Dominicus  Brand new resort and in 2016 488 rooms (however additional construction was underway) More contemporary style & decor Good beach area Rooms were very nice Preferred Club located in main lobby and adjacent to main pool & beach front Food was good Center plaza area with nighttime entertainment Main lobby is small, but outdoor bar off lobby is nice Dreams La Romana Originally built in 2003 & opened as Dreams La Romana in 2008 756 rooms Recently renovated and new preferred club adults only lounge & pool added  Rooms are more traditional Caribbean decor Grounds are very lush and tropical Good beach area food was good    Dreams Dominicus fact sheet.pdf Dreams La Romana fact sheet.pdf
    • My sister has done it but with the destination wedding, only super close family members and friends came since it was expensive and farther. It was great though.
