Catering Specific's please!

Hello, I have written a thread on here before about catering options/prices (titled affordable catering.. does it exist?) but if anyone has any other pricing specific's for what they got I would appreciate it! My FH and I want to go into negotiations with multiple caterer's prepared with an idea of the kind of deal we can get out of them! We are planning on approx 80 ppl, want to do a a buffet dinner and want the service fee's as well as tables, linen's, chairs to be included along with bar set up - stemware, cups, ice, cork screws etc. Any feedback would be great!

PS anybody else had issues with being quoted approximate prices on the phone then receiving a quote by email which is like 3 times more expensive? I was quoted on the phone around 90 per person for food/service/plate/utensils and bar set up then received an email where the per person cost was 87 for food alone! I'd love to hear others experiences!

Thank you!

Sydney

I posted on your other thread - but now I have actually had my wedding...

My husbands parents catered our rehearsal "dinner". We didn't have a full plated meal - it was more of appetizer type food (and dessert) which also came with lemonade & coffee. I believe it was around $38 per person. We brought our own pop and alcohol drinks. The caterers did everything in the condo room (it was big enough to host 40 people for the 'dinner'). I'm sure a full dinner would be quite a bit more - but I just wanted to post because everyone really liked the food, and the staff that came were really good. The company was Consuelo and our rehearsal was in Kahana (near Kaanapali... Lahaina.. Napili... Kapalua)

I 2nd Coco's suggestion of Food for the Soul. They include all your tables, chair, linen rentals and their prices are some of the best on the island. But the best part is their food is WONDERFUL! Our guests RAVED about their dinners (we had plated, but they can do buffet) . Tina really works with you on price, is super prompt with correspondence and... just a doll. My experience with them was 110% perfect and I would recommend them a hundred times over!!!!

Edit: I just came back to post a link to their site for you- and found US on their home page!!! Tina said they were reworking their website and I gave her permission to use our pictures... but I'm just giddy to see how it turned out!! They really were a HUGE reason our wedding turned out as wonderful as it did. It's just so fun to see it showcased on their website!!

Here is there website: http://www.foodforthesoulmaui.com/ Please contact them- you'll be really impressed with their service!!

Hi ladies,

My husband and I got married in Napili Bay, Maui, just last week and Food for the Soul catering played a huge part in the most perfect wedding day we could have asked for. I struggled to find a caterer that I could trust but after talking to Tina, my search was over. She was interested in what I wanted for my wedding rather than trying to give me a standard package that I felt was offered everywhere else. Tina kept in contact with me, answered all of my questions, and worked with my budget. She even handled the party rentals and made recommendations for an officiant!

On the day of the wedding, I didnâ€t have to worry about the catering at all. They set up a beautiful buffet, bar, tables, and a cupcake stand including linens and ribbons matching my wedding colors with fresh flowers adorning the tables and even the cupcakes. My friends and family could not get over the incredible food, especially the chicken skewers with peanut sauce and the most AMAZING baked brie that Iâ€ve ever tasted not to mention the sushi and sliders. Every detail about Food for the Soul exceeded my expectations!

Good luck with all of your plans!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
