    Great review! Thanks for all of the information! I am also from Dallas, getting married at the Now Sapphire in February and have booked Samuel Luna! Hope I am just as pleased as you obviously were!

          Hi!  Congrats on your wedding!!!  I was so excited to find your postings!  We are planning on getting married there May 7, 2011.  I just had some concerns with the whole communication process/situation.  I saw that you commented on this.  Daniela is the original person that I had been emailing with so I was so happy to see that you were happy with her.  My only thing is that when we finally decided to go with the NOW Sapphire Resort I still wanted to talk to her to discuss a few specifics but she was going to be out of the office until this past Monday.  I have emailed her twice since but have not heard back.  Did you make the first original phone call to her?  I am just concerned because May 2011 is not that far away (planning wise) and we want to give our guests plenty of time to plan, you know?  I have specific questions about the costs that I'd like to go over with her before we fully commit and we won't be able to get our deposit back after November.  Do you have any suggestions? Thank you so much for your time and all your comments from before.  I absolutely appreciate all the advice.  Thanks again!  I look forward to hopefully talking with you.

            I made all attempts to contact them. They did not attempt to contact me. It is highly unlikely that they will be able to help you with planning this far in advance. They usually start going over details with you only a month or two before the wedding (We basically planned the entire wedding the month before the wedding). I basically took the price list that they gave me and added up all the costs that we wanted and then added some extra in case there were things that we didn't expect to pay for and that's how I figured out how much the wedding would be. They can definitely pull off anything that you want, but we didn't really have a definite idea of the cost until right before the wedding.

              You did the dj that was included in the package right? Did you contact the dj directly to add extra time or does the hotel handle contact with the dj?

                If you're asking me if I contacted the DJ I did not.

                Ktchi - I guess what I'm most nervous about is she said she penciled us in for the date but we have yet to put a deposit down.

                  Oh. We didn't contact the DJ at all. The hotel did that for us, but our situation was little funny because we weren't having a DJ until a few weeks before the wedding when they changed ownership and changed the packages and then one came with the package we chose. The DJ did contact us a few days before the wedding. I am not really sure if they tell him what you want or if you do- sorry. We did get a confirmation from them for our date. It took a little time, but we put down a deposit and confirmed the date within a few weeks. I felt a little nervous because they never seemed like the date was set in stone so every time I e-mailed them I would put our date and re-confirm. If I were you I would want a confirmation that the date is set and know that the deposit went through. Although it sucks- calling them was always the easiest way to get through. I did get the run around with the front desk not knowing where to direct my call, but most of the time i got through to someone who could help.

                      Hi Ladies,

                       

                      I'm getting married at the Now Sapphire on June 11, 2011.  Has anyone used the DJ that is included in the Divine Package?  Or has anyone used an outside DJ that you can recommend?  

                       

                      Has anyone used a band or any of the groups that they mention in the wedding book?  Any recommendations??

                       

                      I am also looking into booking a group tour/excursion for all of my guests.  I would like to do a half a day excursion for about 50 people.  Does anyone have any recommendations for a good excursion or who I can book this through?
