How soon should I book my Hair/Make-up?

I don't know for sure if I even want this...but if I do, how long ahead of time should I book this and does anyone have any recommendations?

I don't know how the resorts work, but for a regular hairdresser, some book 6-8 months in advance...

I used Suzanne Morel for my hair and makeup only (actually I added nails to that mix too the day before the wedding...she charged me $25 more, which was nothing)

 

For hair and makeup she charged me...

I also used Suzanne Morel (for a similar arrangement as Drea) and booked as soon as I knew that's what I wanted. I felt lucky they were still available as I just did this in July and my wedding is in Nov. If you're not doing it at the hotel, I would recommend booking as early as you can.

Well Drea you looked very beautiful so I will have to note her for just in case. I am guessing I will definately have my hair done but not sure about the make up. I haven't even checked with the hotel yet...but I guess I should check their pricing too...

I would say at least 3 months in advance, but you could always book sooner. I would send an email or call the place you are thinking about using and see what they recommend. I found out during my planning that even though I told maye months and months in advance what I wanted, she didn't actually call them until we were much closer to the wedding date.

My resort wants a 50% deposit down, so I'm thinking of going elsewhere. I don't know but for some reason I'm not getting a good impression from the salon at the resort. Not very organized, months to reply to me etc.

We allready booked our hair and makeup and our wedding is still 10 months out. We (me and my two sisters) are using Suzanne Morales (spelling is prob wrong) everyone raves about her but she is kinda pricey. I am getting a trial done with her in a few weeks and will post a review as soon as we get back.
