Is anyone planning their wedding at either Iberostar Lindo or Maya? I have been going back and forth with Luz their WC and am getting frustrated. Does anyone know if they offer private receptions other than the 2 hour options listed on their information sheet? I am trying to compare the Iberostar resorts with EDR and seem to be getting nowhere. smile105.gif

They do offer private receptions. If I remember correctly, they offer a private reception in one of the bars for $500.

A bunch of us have considered the Iberostar resorts, but most of us changed our minds. There have been a couple brides who did site visits and I know the reason we changed our minds is because of the beach location for the wedding ceremony. It was crowded in between beach chairs and boat rentals, the decor looked really cheap and worn (like Wal-Mart cheap plants in the arch), and the last bride who visited said the walk from the resort to the beach is like a football field length and there was damage to the jungle right where the ceremony would be held.

I think I still have their package pricing and optional items price list. If you PM me your email address, I'll send it to you, if you'd like...

I was not thrilled by their beach wedding sites or decorations either. I am glad I am not the only one that thinks their arches and columns are cheap looking. I was considering a ceremony in their chapel. I like that they only schedule one wedding per day and that there are a few different resort options for our guests.

Yea, their chapel's are cute and I really liked the one wedding a day and various pricing options for the resort also for guests. The only thing to be careful about are exchange privledges between Lindo/Maya/Del Mar in the Paraiso complex. My understanding is that basically, if you have the wedding at the Lindo and stay at the Lindo, then your guests who stay at the Del Mar are not automatically allowed in the Lindo restaurants. Also, check with the WC on whether there would be a guest pass fee for Del Mar guests to attend your Lindo/Maya wedding.

I got your email---- I'll send you everything now. Look for an email from IFG.MCL0108---- that's the email we set up specifically for wedding stuff...

Hi, I'm that last bride that went there, lol. I met with Luz in person and did not feel confident with her. She seemed sort of timid and meek and like she didn't have many answers other than what was printed on her "schpiel" (sp?) sheet. I wrote a review of it under Riviera Maya Site Accommodations.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
