Not happy with our wedding time

Recommended Posts

So when we were booked at Beaches Negril we were scheduled for 4pm....but now that we've switched to Beaches T&C, the only time slot available for our day is 11am sad.gif That just seems like such an awkward time to me and while I'm not happy about it, I definitely don't want to switch my date, and I really don't feel like switching our resort, so I feel kind of stuck.

I would love to hear from brides who have had early ceremony times and how you handled scheduling, etc. I know I've read similar threads on this before but didn't find too much when I tried to search. Can someone please make me feel better about our ceremony time??

i know a friend of mine who had a wedding in the early afternoon. and she actually loved it! she did the ceremony, and had a reception after.( just as if you were to have one later in the day). but the best part was she said was she got to purchase an evening dress. after the reception and all that fun. everyone took a break from each other to nap, refresh ect, then they hit up the resort disco and had a great night. she said it was almost like 2 receptions. she really enjoyed it!!!!!! my cemermony is at 1pm, so not far from ur time. and althou it may seem shitty, just think you get the WHOLE day to party it up and celebrate!

hockeymom, we had our wedding at 11 a.m. in the Riviera Maya and it actually worked out well. I didn't have to avoid my future hubby all day (you know, the whole "can't see the bride before the wedding), I didn't have all day to get more and more nervous and stressed, and we had lots of time in good lighting to take pictures. We had our reception at 6:30, so our guests just spent the afternoon doing whatever they liked -- some napped, some went to the beach, some went into Playa del Carmen. The only minor drawback was having to get up pretty early to have my hair and makeup done.

I was at first disappointed about the early time, too, but everything turned out great.

I think that 11 AM would be great! You could do a nice ceremony and then your guests could enjoy the rest of their afternoon and meet you for a fun reception later that day! Also, it would give you and your hubby time to soak it all in before your big reveal later that evening!

There was another bride who posted something similar. Her church was only available at 11am and the reception venue was only available frm 6pm. Personally I have been attending more and more weddings that are being held earlier. I think 11am is fine. Is your reception following right after or is it later in the evening. You get to have your wedding and then guests can enjoy the evening. You can all probably meet up and go off property later in the evening and party it up.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
