Hey ladies, I am back online!

Recommended Posts

First off I want to tell you how wonderful it is to read your posts and well wishes. I truly believe that it makes a difference! Thanks to all of you...love you kids!

As Maggie told you, the surgeon was able to get a biopsy, thank God. He said he would see me in a couple of weeks to discuss the surgery and the pathology. So now we hurry up and wait.

Because my DH is 100% disabled from his militry service while in Viet Nam, I am also qualified to get health care at the MPLS VA Hospital. It is kind of complicated in that I am not allowed to join the Clinic for Women. There are too many female soldiers that need the spots, as it should be. But I am able to go through Urgent Care and be seen that way. One thing that I have found is that there is some evidence of the good ole boy network being alive and well in some of these physicians and the manner in which they deal with non-military female patients. Now, there was a time when some women could be patted on the head and told to let the Doc do the worrying, everything was fine, the Doc knows best. Well it is not that time and I am sure as hell not one of those women! Many on the urology team felt we should just wait and watch the tumor for another 6 months. After the 2nd oppinion I insisted the tumor be taken out. What I received was no eye contact, promises that it was not malignant, and an ass who I swear was about to try to pat me on the head! I got my way, but now I am going to have to wait for the results.

Please don't misunderstand me, I am so grateful to have the VA. I just don't like to be condescended to.

Back to you guys, because of your prayers and good wishes, and the good energy you sent my way, I am confident that the results I get will be great. I have said it b4 and will continue to say that all of you ladies are the best!

Much love,

Lizzy

Hey Lizzy! So glad to see you back online. You sound in good spirits and we're waiting to hear your GREAT report. I'm confident that with enough of us praying, sending positive thoughts, etc that everything will be fine. Maggie kindly updated us the other night, I was relieved to hear the procedure went well.

VA hospital can be difficult- good for you for sticking up for yourself! Keep it up...you have to be an advocate for your own health because others might not! Take care and keep us posted...

Hi Lizzy - needless to say, you are in my thoughts & prayers for sure. I support you in being your own advocate - you simply have to do it, whether in a VA hospital or any other hospital. And, enlist the help of your friends and family to do the same for you. ALWAYS ASK THE HARD QUESTIONS & INSIST ON AN ANSWER! You are truley the only one in the room with the biggest investment in your own health and well being. We love you!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
