Sandals photography (? for TA Jennifer...)

Recommended Posts

I read an update that TA Jennifer posted about 6 months ago that Sandals would be launching a new website with photographer information, including their portfolios, and we would soon be able to choose our photographer.

Does anyone have any information on this? I'm worried about my photography. I don't have the budget to fly a photographer with us so I have to rely on the resort and my guests. I'd really like to see some of the portfolios from Sandals Royal Caribbean.

As far as I know this hasn't happened yet, unless maybe it's something your WC can provide? I haven't seen anything on the Sandals/Beaches web sites tho. But if you check out some of the reviews for Beaches and Sandals weddings, I think you can get an idea of what to expect from the resort photographers.

I photographed a wedding at Sandals Negril, so it's definitely possible. The photographer simply has to be a guest at the resort, and it's best if you work with the TA's from this forum, as they have a great relationship with the resorts and can get it approved.

When I was originally booked at Beaches Negril, I was using my own photographer. I was flying her in from Chicago and she was staying at the resort for 3 days as a guest. But that was the stipulation by Beaches - the photographer had to be booked as a guest - they couldn't just come in with a day pass. I had absolutely no problems arrnaging this. My TA made a note on my photographers reservation and I also spoke with the WC in Miami as well as called the resort directly - all confirmed that I would not have any issues.

I am still undecided if we will try to go the same route this time at Beaches T&C due to the airfare being so much higher.

However I have seen posts from other brides that have stated they did have issues using their own photographer. I would really check with your TA and your WC and ask for their help in using the photographer that you want.

Take your own photographer. Sometimes, it's cheaper than hiring the site photographer. Plus, you'll get more of their time and get to know them on a more personal level than just someone you hire for a few hours.

Just FYI: check out brendamurphyphotography.com - I love her work and her site says available for destination weddings.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
