RIU VS. Beaches Negril HELP!!!

Recommended Posts

I'm getting married at the Riu Negril. I chose it because:

-it was an economical choice for all my guests

-they offer a free wedding package

-it's affiliated with Riu Palace, if some guests wanted to stay there

-has pretty good online reviews

-know others who have been there and loved it

-have had excellent service with their wedding dept

Good luck with your choice!

@Kimberly, don't worry yourself RIU or Beaches any is a great choice.

The thing with RIU is the excellent and spacious rooms nice food and great staff. Although RIU is a bit out of the way if you plan to go into the town. But why would you need that when everything you want is right where you are? If you are planning to partake in any of the various activities be sure to sign up early because sometimes that get book out pretty quickly and I am sure you don't want the wait. Some things to note about RIU In order to have a wedding at RIU Hotels & Resorts, the couple and 80 percent of the total amount of the wedding guests must stay at the hotel where the wedding will be performed. I am sure you know this but just in case they have a few excellent wedding packages you could look into ranging from free to what they call they Caprice and I call the Deluxe. I could probably tell you more but I want to give you some ideas about Beaches Negril.

In my mind Beaches more appeals to the family its more of a fun place with slides and a lot of fun stuff for the whole family. Personally I like the inside of RIU rooms better but that doesn't say Beaches doesn't have some excellent rooms. Beaches has a wider choices of rooms but again more doesn't necessarily mean better. On average every thing else is the same some times Beaches will be having some kind of promotion so you could look into that if you are considering Beaches. I know I have a slant towards RIU but remember at the end the choice is yours.

I got married at Riu Palace Tropical Bay April 2009. We stayed for 2 weeks and we loved it. I'm pretty sure any Riu or Beaches/Sandals in Jamaica you pick you won't be disappointed. Good luck with your choice! The link to my review of RPTB is in my siggy!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
