Wedding at cancun palace

Recommended Posts

Hello Katie,

Congratulations!  I am new to this forum and came across this post.  It is now 1 month before your wedding and I imagine you have gotten the information you were looking for.  Please tell me what collection you decided to go with.  I am signed up for the  Sapphire collection.  Did you do a site visit?  Any information you have gotten on this would be great.  I have all the standard marketing material that Yesenia sends but no real life pictures or lists/ price list for dinners, flower upgrades etc.  Any information you have would be great if you could share.  My email address is mjahfc@yahoo.com.

Thank you,

Michelle

Sorry for such a late reply icirelli.. I haven't been on this forum in awhile.

I set up my site visit to Moon Palace through Jennifer Gamboa in the weddings dept (Miami). Apparently, she's the one that takes care of site visits: the actual room reservation and schedules the meeting with the WC on site.  She completely screwed up everything she did for me though.  She booked the wrong room rate for the site visit so I had a hard time while checking IN and OUT and sent me and the WC different mtg times!  I have no idea how she got things messed up like that.

The visit wasn't free.. it was a special rate though (I think $220/per room per night) and if you did go with through with your wedding at the resort, they would credit you for the site visit up to 2 or 3 nights after the wedding.

Hope this helps!

Monica,

We're getting married at the Cancun Palace in May 2011 as well, when is your date?  We chose to go with the complimentary collection instead of going with one of their already built collections because we can just add things as we want them and it ends up being less expensive.

We did a site visit of both the Cancun Palace and Beach Palace last month. Jennifer also set ours up and she was very difficult to work with.  Super slow, very laid back about things, I had to beg her for info, but once we went down there it was smooth.  We did get 2 complimentary nights for 2 people, we didn't pay a thing when we were there and they upgraded us to a concierge room which was nice.  I had to have my wedding contract signed before I went - which wasn't a big deal because you can cancel it with no penalty anyway.  That's how I got the free nights.

Myself and melissa are considering Cancun palace Oct 2012.

Due to the lack of pictures does anyone have details on reception areas/ Cocktail areas?? Would love to see some pictures before we actually book as we live in the UK and it is understandably to far to travel for a site visit.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanx

scott & melissa (Scotland, UK)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
