St. Lucia Must Sees/Do

Recommended Posts

Hi,

So excited...we are honeymooning in St. Lucia at the Sandals Grande and I was just wondering what are the must sees? Any restaurants that we should visit? Should we book with any particular tour company? Thanks

Hi Classadiva,

I would recommend to visit the Pitons (mountains) as the are gorgeous and it's a World Heritage Site. If you go in this area of St-Lucia (called Soufrière), you can also visit old plantations, go to the drive-in volcano and Sulfur Springs.

I have not been there yet but I am planning my wedding in Soufrière for 2011 at Jade Mountain. I have found many reviews of the different tours providers on Trip Advisor (Attractions section). Hope this can be useful!

Enjoy your honeymoon and if you do a review of your honeymoon in St.Lucia, I will be more than happy to read it! :-)

P.S. Sorry for the mispelling and bad grammar... Shame on me Frenchie!

I highly suggest Cosol Tours. My fiance and I were in St. Lucia on a cruise last fall. We took his tour which goes to many parts of St.lucia including sulpher springs. The best part is when you take a boat ride to the pitons and swim at the beach right in between. It was the most beautiful place I have ever been to. On the tour you also stop and taste some local foods and bread on the way back. He also has a beverage bus the follows you with plenty of rum punch, pitons beer, soda and water. He's a fun guy you would have a blast.

Not sure when if you went on your honeymoon yet, but here are some suggestions.

Restaurants:

*The Edge has to to be one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at.  So delicious and sits right on Rodney Bay.

*Rainforest Hideaway in Margot Bay is another great restaurant.  You take a little boat to get to it and it has a great romantic feel

*Jacques is Castries is where I had the dinner part of my reception.  Super nice people, good food, and again, it sits right on the water.

Activities:

*Definitely go to the Jump-Up on Friday night in Gros Islet.  It's fun to see the local and tourists partying together and we got some great street food.  My favorite was some kind of chicken pocket and my group sold this woman out of them at the beginning of the night.  I had some really yummy guava ice cream from the ice shop/

*Sulphur Springs isn't the most exciting thng, but you should definitely check it out once.  There are a couple of cool waterfalls that you can go to near there and actually swim in them, but I can't remember the names right now.

*One word...Catamaran!  We went with Carnival and had a blast.  I know there's another company called Mango Tango that my wedding coordinator recommended.

*I missed out on zip-lining through the rainforest, but next time we go back I will definitely do it.  Some of our wedding guests went and loved it.

*I would skip the Botanical Gardens unless you're really into going to that.

I recommend finding a cab driver that you really like and paying him to take you on a tour for a day. I did both an organized tour and a personal tour and liked the personal one better.  They were both good though.

St. Lucia is a beautiful, fun, safe island, so the most important thing to remember is that you want to get out of your all-inclusive resort and experience the island.  Don't just hide out the whole time because you'll miss out on so much.

If you already went on your honeymoon, I already know it was fabulous.  If not, then have a blast!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
