We are already only 9 months away from our target wedding month (March 2011, no date set) and am concerned that we are missing a window as far as timing. Am I crazy to try and plan this whole thing in 9 months, top to bottom?!? The last thing I want is stress over something that I have been waiting so long for.... Gahh! Do things fill up as fast as I think it might?? He said it best last night, doesn't matter where we go, we will have a great time anyplace. He is right, but I want to make sure it is somewhere we want to be! help!
No, you aren't crazy to plan in 9 months, but you should definitely start to plan now to get your top choices. Many guys don't enjoy the research part but for girls it is fun! :) Plus, you will feel a lot better once you have a location set and can really start putting the details together. One of the nice things about doing a DW is that you don't have to stick to a traditional Saturday, as everyone is going to be there for you whichever day of the week you choose. That does help as Saturdays are usually the first to book up. If you do want a Saturday though, the sooner you choose the better!

Congrats and welcome to the forum. Picking the destination can be one of the most challenging things but with so many ladies on here getting married in so many different destinations I'm sure after browsing the board for a bit you'll be able to narrow your choices down to just one. Good luck and happy planning!

Welcome and congrats!! I have been with my fiance 8 years, so I know the feeling wink.gif. I was overwhelmed picking a location too, but contacted a travel agent that specializes in destination weddings, told her my vision and budget, and she recommended some great places. We also researched ourselves to make sure we are getting the best possible deal... We actually got more affordable room rates on our own, but when I told her, she matched the price.

Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
