If you make a right out of the resort, it's on the right hand side. there are tons of little shack/shops all over the road on the way there from the airport. We were a bit pressed for time so this was the first one/closest to the resort. the beach was also off the resort but right next to it, but we had to be very careful - it was really rocky - we were really glad we had our water shoes!

Jerseykitten,

I have a couple of questions if you don't mind.

I see you did OOT Bags, which I am planning to do as well. How did you distribute them to your guests?

Also, I am trying to have some sort of Welcome Dinner for my guests. I expect to have about 55 people. Nina said she could reserve a space (tables of 10) for us at the Negril buffet resturant, but do you think that venue will work for a group my size? Would you happen to have any other recommendations? We are having the welcome dinner on Friday, which is the same night as the outdoor Beach BBQ I hear they have every week. Maybe if a lot of people go to the BBQ the Negril buffet resturant won't be very crowded?? Any help is appreciated.

One of the smartest things I did was give out as many of the OOT bags as possible to people BEFORE we left. i made them up at home and dropped them off at local friends homes, or by their offices, etc. One of the other BDW Brides did this and it made my life so much easier. i did remind them to bring the "big cup" (a 42oz glow in the dark cup) with them, because the drinks are served in very small plastic cups...everyone was glad they did. As for the other bags, I brought them unassembled in a suitcase, put them together when I got there and as people checked in, I would find them and give them their bags. When I checked in I found our from the front desk who was staying in which room, so that helped too.

Negril Buffet will be fine for the welcome dinner - I would make the reservation for as soon as it opens to make sure that they can have the tables ready for you - I only needed seating for 22 and i gave the hostess $20 - we had awesome service all night. i don't think any of the other restaurants could accommodate that many people except for the other buffet restaurant Mo'Bay - and that's pretty much identical. Hopefully they will have the lady that makes fresh crepe desserts there - they were delish!

Feel free to PM me with any other questions!

Yea, Michele!!!

First of all, Congratulations on your wedding -- from your gorgeous photo slideshow, it looks like you were such a fun, flirty, fabulous bride!

And second, THANK YOU for writing such a refreshingly-honest review! It's awesome to read a candid account of your full DW experience ( AND PLEASE, don't worry about taking a little while to post your review, either~!! We got married May 14th, and it's now almost a month later, and I still haven't written/posted mine yet! You're right about just being busy with planning an AHR and getting back into the swing of everyday life after you return -- time just gets away from you! NO WORRIES!)

CONGRATS again to you and Jim, and I hope you are simply drenched in newlywed-bliss! wink.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
