February isn't a big travel time down there, which is good for finding good prices.
Well I see your from San Fran so did you think the water was too cold in Feb b/c you are used to warm temperature? I am from NY where the weather is brutal in February. We are talking below zero, freezing cold temps. But I would like to be able to go in the water. Hmmm maybe we should go at a different time.

Yeah, I guess it was because I was used to the warm weather...I had been living down there for 2 years. If you are coming from the snow, you will definitely be able to get in the water!!

Hello Everyone!

New here, and totally lost for DW spots! We are looking at T&C, despite the cost. Has anyone heard anything about the Beaches resort there?? Also, how is the weather in August?

Your responses are appreciated!

The Beaches resort there is really nice! If you have really toddlers I'd stay in the older section as it is closer to everything and not as much walking. With older kids I'd stay in the newer side as it's a touch nicer!

Heya Jen, thanks for the quick reply! Can you tell us when the best time to travel is ($$). We are quite limited in dates, and are thinking either End of August, end of October, and maybe (sniff sniff) end of April...

We have only a handful of kids coming, all under 10. There are about 25 adults.

Thanks!

Mid - End of October is better price wise for 2008 and if you have to do 2009 I'd wait till the beg. of May. That's the best time price wise for Beaches T & C!

My pleasure!

Hi, I just joined the group. For Lillie09, I am getting married in Turks and Caicos in Feb. 09! Are you working with NILA Desintations? Beaches and Club Med are two all inclusive resorts.

Hi! Glad to know there is someone else getting married in Turks and Caicos..I'm getting married in July 09. Yes I am working with NILA Destinations. Which wedding planner are you working with? How has your experience been? My fiance and I are planning on getting married on Grace bay beach and having a reception at Grace's cottage. Rosalind (the planner from NILA) hasn't responded to the e-mails though. I'm thinking they're busy this time of the year.
Looking forward to talking with you!

I've lived here 13 years. I would suggest October as a first choice as well as it's a bit quieter here at all of the resorts and there are some better rates that time of year. August is still pretty busy for the hotels etc through Labor day. In October it's also cooling down from the summer heat (mid 80's to mid-90's vs hotter) and the breezes are picking up a bit (in a good way).

If you have to look in the spring, early May is a good choice as the easter breaks are out of the way.

The residents will stay away from the water in February (water temp that time of year is around 76-80F), but the tourists seem to be happy to swim then. It is all relative really. My kids can be in 85 degree weather and wearing long pants and sweaters and telling me it's cold. Mind you, they'll still jump in the pool or the sea if I let them!!! Most of us residents are wimps....LOL.

We did underwater photography for years and I don't remember ever having the water temperature below 76 here (and that was diving 60 feet and below.) It won't be like bath water as it is here in the summer, but won't be freezing either.

    • Hi Everyone, So, I was cleaning out my closet and realized that I never sold off my extra wedding OOT bag stuff from our wonderful DW.   46 Daily Spanish for Dummies 30 Pool colored OOT fabric bags - approximately 13in x 13in. They lay flat.  I used them for our wedding and they were perfect for everything we needed to fit in each bag. There’s a slight shade variation in the group; I’m guessing some were cut from a different bolt of fabric.  They are also a little wrinkled from storage and will probably be wrinkled from shipping. I have three additional ones, but they somehow got something on them (likely toddler related). If needed, I can try to wash it out and send those as well.
    • I’m getting married in six months to my foreign girlfriend. I was advised by a friend that one of the things I need to do before saying I do is to get a prenuptial agreement. Basically it’s supposed to protect my assets and properties in case my relationship with my future wife goes down the drain. I don’t know though if this is an acceptable practice when marrying Kiev ladies. I don’t want to do it if it would be insulting on her end. I need advice on this. Please help me.
    • So we are currently looking for an all inclusive resort for the wedding. We have 60 guests and found all the Dreams resorts as options and all of them gave us a quote and discounted price since it’s off season etc. Resorts in Punta Canta gave us a reasonable price, Dominicus gave us a really good deal then La Romana Resort and Spa gave us their regular price and so hard to negotiate. Will someone tell us how special is this resort that they won’t give us a good discount when all my guests are staying in their resort for 5-8 days. We are bringing $$$ in their resort and not give us a discount?  What is so special with this resort?  Can somebody recommend a beautiful resort?
