What day should i get married??

Recommended Posts

Ok, who's good with logtics... I plan on spending 10 days in Mexico for the wedding. My TA is arranging 3, 4, 5 and 7 nights for the guests. If I have her plan a Saturday - Saturday stay for the 7 nighters what day should i get married?? I want the 3 and 4 nighters to attend the wedding. I dont want to have the wedding/reception the day before people leave. Any suggestions? How did everyone else handle this? Am i overthinking this?fryingpan.gif

I am staying for 11 days in Costa Rica, (Wed-the following Sun), we are getting married on a Saturday... I have packages set up for our guests for Thurs-Thurs, Thur-Mon, and Fri-Mon for the people that souldn't stay long or had kids they had to get back to. I say either Fri or Sat to get married, you can pretty much do any package with those!

shelley i'm always following your posts!!!!

i had the same prob - we're staying wed.- the following sat... the first weekend is a holiday weekend, so i decided that sat would be good b/c ppl could fly out thurs or fri morning, and leave monday in time for work on tues. i wanted ppl to be there to hang out, be at a WD and not have to leave the following day....when are your 3 day-ers staying?

i'm learning that you can't please all people all the time - try to remember that!

Some places may have lower rates on weekdays... depends if that is the case for your location and if budget is a constraint.

I am getting married on a Saturday because I knew my sister could only go Friday - Monday. This works for several guests. Some people are staying Thursday through late Sunday. (Thursday is our joint bachelor/bachelorette outing - ha!)

So far most of our guests are staying Thursday - Tuesday.

Why not do Sunday to Sunday and get married on the Friday? That way the 3 night people can come Thursday -Sunday (and only miss one day of work).

We chose a saturday to make it easier for people who either won't or can't take too many days off from work. This way if they really were low on vacation hours, they could take just 1/2 a day off on friday, arrive in the evening, spend the day with us, and then depart on sunday. That being said, I discouraged as many people as possible to do that. What's the point of going to the beach if you can't enjoy it? (besides wishing us well,of course...)

I am going for 10 days and getting married on a Friday. Guests are either coming for the whole week or for 3, 4, or 5 nights. I planned on a Friday b/c then people could come down for a long weekend. I didn't want it Saturday b/c then we have a day after the wedding for people to relax before they have to go home for work again.

Hello!

You just have to consider also what type of ceremony you would like to have because in Mexico for a legal ceremony you must be 3 working days prior your arrival date!

However it would be much better to be you the one who is arriving the first in order to have enough time to arrange all details... if so, you can count your 4th. day of stay to be your wedding date.

I hope i was clear enough!!

Good luck!!thewave.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
