Hi All!

Wow...can't believe my wedding talk and meltdowns are over.....now on to more exciting things-THE HONEYMOON!!!!!!

We got married May 6rth 2010 at RIU Ocho Rios. It was fabulous. We went with 38 of our friends and family, so it was the furthest thing from a honeymoon.....we literally had no time alone..ok, maybe when we went to bed, but that was it-and who can blame us-when would we ever get such a big crowd to vacation with?

We' didnt book that second week, and we're kind of glad we didn't. We really got tired of the food, and we missed home..(I know I never thought Id want to leave the Caribbean to go home!) But now we're home and wanting to plan another vacay for just the 2 of us....we may do the late honeymoon..and plan our vacation for next year, or wait on a last minute deal.

We wanna go back to Jamaica....but to Negril....we're stuck between Couples Negril and Couples Swept Away.....but then Sandals is playing on the backs of our minds.....we reallyy cant decide where to go.......and we want to book asap!

We'd prefer adults only....prefer Negril.....but dont want to over spend either.....

Anyone have feedback? Suggestions? Fave spots in Negril ??

I haven't been to couples slept away but had a colleague who recently did her 2nd honeymoon there and she can't stop talking about it. She actually stayed her first few days at Couples Negril and then transferred for the remainder of her stay to Couples Swept Away (she is in her late 30s husband early 40s), she claims there is just no comparison. On the other hand I have a friend who just got back from CSA on the advice of that mutual friend and she didn't like it. She said it was too quiet, it was very romantic that wasn't her complaint but she was more looking for a party atmostphere (she is 25). She did agree that it is great if you are going on a honeymoon as it was cleaner, new and all round romantic, also great if you want seclusion and a healthy vacay. She went with someone she recently started dating and was looking for a little bit more lively and party atmostphere. Good luck in your decision. Overall I would say skip Sandals though! Both couples are way better than Sandals!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
