ROR Vendor fees?

Recommended Posts

I've been receiving some mixed information about the outside vendor fees from ROR. I was told that they would charge $200 per vendor (I have two photographers coming) to shoot my photos. Last I thought, ROR didn't charge these fees. Anyone have a different experience?

From what I understand you must pay a per guest charge for anyone coming to the resort who's not a guest. I'm having one photog come so I must pay the fee for a 1 day guest pass for him which I'm not really sure the price of. I've heard it's between $80-$100. Other than that if you have someone like Tai Flora supplying flowers or decorations, or a baker bringing a cake there are no fees for that as those people just dropping off items and leaving.

The contract I got from Riu weddings says $200, when I got an  email from the WC, the sheet said $350 for a photographer. But if the photographer is an actual guest at your wedding (part of your group), I don't think they can charge you a fee.  It's like telling my dad he cant take pics :) ... I'm going to try and argue the $150 difference as in the contract from Riu Weddings, this fee wasn't subject to change.

I have asked the WC via email and she has replied saying that the vendors fee is $350 and this includes photographers, florists, bakers etc! Personally i think this is obscene!!!! Can't imagine the cost if people are using all outside vendors. This is another example of how RIU does its best to rip us brides off!

I don't get it, really.  It's so weird that the contract we receive from RIU wedding says $200 and then  a week later it's changed by the WC to $350.  I'm using an outside photographer, and I willd definately bring this up with them. $150 is $150 that I can use to send my parents on an excursion.

Insane and odd... I would of thought that a vendor is a vendor, regardless the profession...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
