They finally responded to me about a month later and basically told me they wanted to use chemicals to straighten my hair. I'm going with Doranna.

Trevor did say they could do either, shuttle or come to the resort. That is honestly one of the main reasons I wanted to go with a stylist so that I could just have my hair done in the room. However, the brunch does sound really fun too!

He does seem to have GREAT prices. I asked him about the guest passes and he told me not to worry about it, that he would talk with the resort and get it covered. I guess since he is not going to be using the facility or having dinner he will probably try and convince them that he doesn't need to pay. But, since he said not to worry I am assuming he'll cover the cost if they do make him pay.

Hopefully someone will jump in and give us a review, but I think he's going to be great!

His prices online are a bit higher than what others have quoted on this board. Maybe he's raising prices a bit?

Like the last posts I'm looking for some reviews and pics!

Hi everyone!

 

I used the stylists and make up artist from Waves Salon just last Saturday (May 21).  Andrea, Lola and Charlie came to the resort (Gran Bahia Principe Coba) at 1pm and did the hair and make up for 6 people.  They did an amazing job on our hair and make up.  Our wedding was on the Tulum Beach and it was soo windy that even my veil flew off but my hair stayed in place! My bridesmaids loved their hair and make up as well and some of them are very hard to please.  I highly recommend their services for your wedding!

yay! so glad for a reivew on here. : ) just bumping the thread in case anyone else has used Waves. I'm booking them for 5/5/2012 and PRAYING the resort doesn't charge the $350 outside vendor fee. fingers crossed!!

I would stay away from this place..... Still EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with this salon.... I showed up this past Saturday (1/14/2012) for a confirmed hair and make up trial appointment by the owner, while visiting Mexico specifically for wedding planning, only to arrive at the salon to be told by a young girl NO ONE was there to do my appointment. Ive emailed and still have not heard back as to why i wasted my TIME and MONEY to trust this salon with my wedding day! Plus it was in the middle of no where, when I got into the taxi at my resort, the driver asked me why I wanted to go to that area bc there was nothing around. He was right....
