Real touch vs. Real......what to do?

Recommended Posts

So I am struggling with the dilemma of Real Touch "fake" flowers and real flowers.

At first, I was super snobby about the flowers and would NEVER have done fake flowers. But, after seeing some photo's on here, and receiving my Real Touch gardenia for my hair, I am quickly changing my tune!

At this point I am wondering what is making you brides lean towards one or the other?

Fake because they last forever? You can get the exact flower you want? Less money?

At first I thought it would save me money going with the fake, but after looking at the price of these "real" looking fake flowers, I'm not so sure.

I will be needing:

My bouquet

2 boutonnieres

4 bridesmaid bouquets

What are you suggestions, ladieshuh.gif

Thanks!

Lori- If I could go back and do it again, I would have got real touch flowers. I relied on the WC to get my flowers right, but when I got there, I didn't have the right bouquets. I didn't let it bother me at the time, but it's still one of my disappointments. So having your flowers in advance ensures that they are done exactly the way you want.

Plus I have the vases I used on our wedding day on my dining room table. I would have loved to have the bouquets somewhere as a reminder too.

i also thought i'd never do "fake" flowers. but i always knew i wanted to preserve my bouquet. well apperantly you cant bring flowers back through customs. plus we are arriving 2 days before the wedding and staying for a week after so that wouldn't work either. also, i didn't want to risk getting there and not liking my bouquet...especially since there will be a million pics of it! that's why i decided to go with real touch flowers.

as for the cost, my wedding package includes my bouquet, and 2 bouts. we are using the flowers from my bouquet and turning it into smaller bouquets for my 3 BMs. i feel like the bride's bouquet is the most important so that's what i was willing to spend money on.

good luck!

At first, I too scoffed at the idea of having fake flowers. But then I got reading this board and I saw so many beautiful pictures of everyone's real touch flowers. I want to make sure I get the flowers I want plus once I found out I wouldn't be able to bring (real) flowers back home with me, I was sold on the idea. I know exactly what I want, I just have to decide on a vendor.

I'm a real flower girl. I like the smell of fresh flowers and I got married in the jungle on a beach...it was a very natural setting so for me, using fake flowers didn't fit. If I got married indoors some place where fresh flowers were out of season maybe I would see it differently, but I didn't fly to a natural paradise surrounded by gorgeous real flowers to use artifical ones.

Maybe I'm lucky because the florist got my bouquet right but honestly even if it was wrong I would prefer any real flower to the alternative, even if it was a plain old daisy.

I also knew the idea of saving them sounded good but realistically I wasn't going to look at them all the time and they would just be one more thing to pack up and take with me, so I didn't care about it. Personal preference.

Having that said, many people I know used fake flowers and they look awesome. If you have plans to re-use them later and don't mind that they aren't fresh flowers then real touch may be for you.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
