Need advise on shopping for my gown!

Recommended Posts

Yeah I think I like the idea of going now to try on lots of dresses to get an idea, and then waiting for my mom to come down and help me make the final decision. I just wasn't too sure how long most dresses took to actually come in after they are ordered. One of my friends said it took her dress like 6 months to come in and the store even told her 6-9 months for most of their dresses. That seemed like a really long time to me...

I think shopping is a little hard at first when you don't know what you want & there are so many options. I think your mom will have more fun just making a final decision. I've been shopping for a while to figure out what style I want. I take pictures in the dresses & email them to my mom for her opinion. She was going to be here last weekend, but her flight was canceled. I found my dress, but it's probably better she wasn't here because I had to do a lot of driving & running around. It wasn't too much fun.

I went out dress shopping with a friend and found a few that I really loved. I went back a few weeks later with my mom to decide which looked the best. I ordered a Maggie Sottero dress and it took 6 months to get to the shop and 2 weeks for the alterations. It depends on how many dresses the store has to make alterations on. The seamstress who did mine said sometimes it can take longer. But you still have a long time so you'll be fine. I had to get mine done early because my fiance and I moved to Australia for the year so he could do his teaching degree and our wedding is 3 weeks after we get home.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
