    Hey ladies,

I am unsure of how to start. This has been very frustrating for me. I had planned my wedding last year. It was suppose to be on November 16th. I have since received nothing in way of any documentation. I have nothing to show that I have gotten married. I have contacted the wedding co-ordinator on many occasions, and all she has said is to be patience. That mine has gotten lost but that they are looking for it. She has also suggested that I contact someone here that may help me. But who do I contact here in Ontario? Since this last suggestions she is not responding to my emails. I am at a loss. I feel miserable, like my wedding was a complete joke as I have no way of showing that it was or is legal. I am basically no better off now than I was then. I am angry because it looks like I have to spend more money to do this again. And of course I will have to do it on the sly because i am embarrassed to tell people what happened.

I have even sent an email to the notary's office (that performed the ceremony) with no response.

What should I do? I have tried to contact the resort head office with no luck either. What would you do?

I cannot seem to get over this.

Oh shit- that sounds like a mess!

      I found this while googling:
      Destination Weddings--Erin Bergen Travel

Scroll down to the Cuba section (about half way down the page). They list embassy contacts in Canada as well as few contacts in Cuba. Good luck! I hope that helps.

Thank-you Rachel, I will definitely be calling all numbers first thing Monday morning. Any thank-you to everybody else. Having you to tell my troubles to really has helped. Thanks again ladies, you are all amazing.

Oh wow, that's horrible! Please come back and let the ladies know if you were able to resolve the situation so that they know what to do if the same thing happens to them! GOOD LUCK!

Sorry you are dealing with this.. We were in a similar situation - we got married May 23rd of last year and didn't get our marriage certificate until mid-November.. We heard every excuse and got the run around for months.. At one point our resort told us the wedding coordinator was no longer with them, so there was no one to help us.. I was so upset - thinking our wedding was a joke, etc.. so I feel your pain.. but it worked out (eventually) for us, so I'm sure it will eventually work out for you too - things take longer in the islands I guess :) My suggestion is to keep calling and try to go higher up - we called the owner of the hotel at one point.. I'm sure it will all work out in the end - good luck :)

Oh NO! Well, I hope it is the case of latino people. That sounds mean, but we take for ever to do everything. I should not be so... what's the word? general? Not everybody is like that. But when it comes to bureaucracy, pretty much everything gets super delayed. Hope you get it sooner than later tho.

That is such a fear of mine...part of me just wants to go and get legally married here without telling anyone, then i can avoid all the overseas paperwork.

                      58 people booked...and counting!!!
