We haven't really discussed to much of the actual logistic's yet actually... my fiance and I are still deciding on whether or not to pay the extra $$ for the private reception, we're only going to have about 35 guests, and the thing is you pay for 50 even if you dont have 50... so we're stumped!

Once we've made our minds on that.. then it will be time to get serious. I have alot in my head that I'd like to see happen... but we'll see how much actually comes true (and how much we want to pay for!!) :)

From what i've seen it usually takes Nadia a few days to respond to emails, she does have many weddings a week to do, so really, she probably doesn't care much about ours since they're still 3 months away :P

I have started planning with Nadia and there is really not that much to do since we are only having 24 people so there is no point in having a private reception.  She said that they will reserve a section of the restaurant for us which is good enough for me.  Has she told anyone which restaurant you will be having the dinner in?

we are only having about 20-25 people; but, I really wanted the dinner to be on the beach so I guess we will probably have to pay for 50 people.  which I am not to happy about - but I know if we went all the way down there for our wedding & I didn't do it the way that I wanted just because of the money aspect I would be disappointed and probably regret not doing it.  I have set the date & time..but nothing else is for sure yet.  I emailed her the other day describing that we wanted the ceremony outside with a cocktail/appetizer hour following & then a dinner on the beach.  but, she hasn't responded to my email yet...so still waiting to hear what she says.  i also asked why a cocktail hour would cost so much extra when all of our guests are already staying at the hotel with an all inclusive package.  we haven't gotten into any of the details yet.  I know of someone getting married there at the begin of Jan & her wedding is already planned!  so I felt like I had better start!

are you guys doing a dance/party after the dinner?  I was looking into having a dance floor setup on the beach with tiki torches & a DJ ... this is all getting SO expensive.  are you guys going with a DJ?

also - are you going with the resort photographer?

I think that we are going to go with the following:  ceremony on the beach followed by cocktail hour with the DJ and then the dinner.  Kind of backwards then normal but the easiest.  We decided to get the resort photographer after seeing a few sample shots.  I also have others coming to the wedding that are able to take great pictures.

Apparently the DJ is included for the first hour after the ceremony but you have to pay anytime after that.

When are you getting married again?

We're probably going to go with non private as well b/c of the cost. we're only having 35 ppl so I really dont want to pay for 50 people. We really havent discussed with Nadia exactly what we want yet... ideally I wanted to just set my my Ipod somewhere, get some speakers, and have our own dance party, but if we're not have private, it might be awkward with the rest of the guests there :P So i'm not sure where to go from there... I would still like to do first dance and father/daughter dance, but i dont know how it works if we're not seperated from the other guests?!?! anyone know...?!?!...

As for photographer, we're going with Juan Navarro. My fiance is an amatuer photographer himself, and he really liked what Juan did, so we're going with him and I'm pumped about it! :):)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
