Hi Amanda! I am getting married at Dreams Punta Cana in November. We are doing a beach ceremony. I am standing my ground on this one even though it seems that most people recommend the gazebo. I feel that one of my main reasons for having a destination wedding is so I can walk down the "aisle" barefoot in the sand. Also, we picked the biggest wedding package, The Ultimate. I am not using everything in the package but I wanted to go with the best. We are using the photographer provided by the resort. Our package only include 50 photos so I may decide to add more when I get there. Happy Planning! :)

Hey Amanada, welcome to the forum and congrats, you may wanna check out the Dreams Punta Cana thread that is already established it has a ton of info and pics of everything. I am getting married there in 2 1/2 weeks and that thread has help me with all my planning. Im getting married at the gazebo because I want to wear heels lol.. however I have heard that some brides switched to the gazebo because the beach was kinda windy. I chose the free wedding package and will add on dinner and anything else I need. I hired Micheal Weiler for our photog and his reputation and work is great, there is a thread on this as well.

Happy Planning

I 2nd Toya (lrdavis23). We are getting married there on 8.9.10 and are going with the gazebo since after seeing the beach setup, we noticed that guests in beach chairs were right there beside the ceremony and not very private at all. We are also going to do the free package and add on the additional things we want since we are taking most of the decorations down there ourselves and there was so much in the Ultimate Package that we won't use and they won't make any substitutions. I haven't heard good reviews about there photographer and heard they are rather expensive for what you pay for so we are flying our own photographer down with us. Check out the Dreams Punta Cana Forum and you will find a ton of information! Welcome and happy planning :)

Hello Amanda- Im also going with the Gazebo because Im not sure how I feel about the whole sand thing...and it can be extremely windy....do you have the option to choose a location, and when u get there if you see it and love the set up can u change your mind? I dont think there will be two weddings going on at the same time so this may be an option..especially if that day is less than bright and sunny...

Hello! You will only have to pay the day pass. There is no additional charge. Hope this helps.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
