Hi Ladies.

We got married at the Iberostar last year.  It was magical.  Everything was perfect and the service was impeccable!

We were treated like royalty.  I would highly recommend this resort as a wedding destination to anyone.  I would even get married over again (maybe our vow renewals).

We brought our own photographer with us though from Toronto and shared her travel expenses with another couple getting married the same week we did, as we thought that the resort photographer images were a bit "cheesy".  Our photographer, Alice from studioEPIC photography, had very reasonable rates and our entire wedding photography package came out to just under $2000, she even documented our entire week!   I would like to send you guys some images from our wedding, however I though that this review Alice wrote up about the location would be best and serve more purpose.  Enjoy!:

Hello to all! Our wedding date hasn't been set yet, but I am wondering about reviews for the IB Varadero hotel for a wedding end of March, beginning of April?? Any other hotel suggestions in the Varadero area? It's so difficult to choose one, especially because I haven't been to any hotels in that area....?? Greatly appreciate all suggestions! Aleksandra

The first thing I did was get on trip advisor... look at all the hotels and then search for reviews about weddings, the Iberostar varadero is ranked the #1 in Varadero right now... there are thousands of reviews on this hotel, there is also a Facebook group that you could join to check it out. Or another thing that you could try is talk to a Travel Agent they are usually familiar with lots of hotels all over the place or maybe they have had clients that have been to certain places, then they could suggest and or tell you where to avoid.

Let me know if you have any questions and I will try my best to help you out.

Hey Jolene, That's how I found the hotel, on Trip Advisor..it really helps to see what other people say about it and their own pictures that they posted...it makes it more realistic. I also talked to some family members and they say that sometimes the 5* hotels aren't that much of a difference (except for the price) compared to less star hotels. I'm going through a Travel Agency, because that is how I am going to get more deals depending on the number of guests attending....we'll see what else she comes up with... When I see pictures of weddings in the Dominican or Mexico, they seem to be more professional/more exotic looking. I don't know if that depends on the package you choose or the location ???

We chose Cuba, because the beaches are beautiful, the people are fantastic we were also in attendance to a wedding here about 5 years ago and it was perfect, they got married on the beach and couldn't have been happier! Also we wanted to get married legally when we were on the beach and not have to do it at home first which most people do if they choose Mexico... Cuba is so easy to get legally married there. Also after reading and re reading this Forum and every ones posts I realized that the prices in Mexico are way more than Cuba and maybe that is because they are way more Professional, although anytime I read a review or see pictures from Brides that have been married at the Iberostar Varadero (on the Facebook page) I can see how beautiful it is!

There is another forum on Here http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/83731/2013-2014-iberostar-laguna-azul-cuba-brides/600#post_1945504 which is another hotel in Cuba which seems to be really popular!

Do your research read and read make lists and then decide which will be best for you and your FI! And if you have any questions please let me know!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
