Playacar Palace Resort-Wedding Terrace Photos

Recommended Posts

Hi there all,

I'm new to the board and just wanted to say what a great resource. I'm sooo glad I found it :) Before I posted my question, I sorted through everything I could to make sure the information I was looking for wasn't already posted. Couldn't find it so here goes: We are considering having our ceremony (just the two of us) at Playacar Palace in Playa Del Carmen and I've been trying to find photos of the ceremony locations and can't find much of anything. Does anyone have photos of the terrace or the solarium? I've emailed the wedding planner for the resort but haven't gotten anything back yet. I received the standard wedding packages with a small pic but it doesn't show much of the locations. Anybody that has any information on this resort, I'd really appreciate it.

Hi Ladies

We are getting married in PDC in Nov and all my guests are staying at PP - we are having the cocktail party there in between the church and reception if you give me your email address I can send you pics...yes you can get married on the beach

The resort is absolutely stunning we just went down this past weekend to do wedding planning and I was soooo happy about the choice of this resort it is so calming and beauitful!! I know that they are extremely busy right now with other weddings going on so that's probably why they haven't gotten back to you - try emailing again or contact the head office

Thanks so much! Wouldn't you know it, the day I post my question I received an email from the Wedding Planner with photos of the Terrace. I don't think this is what I want though :) Back to the drawing board for me. I think I am going to look at Gran Porto Real a little closer. Their free wedding package is almost impossible to get if you're a party of two. My fiance and I have pretty much decided we're doing it alone and private. You have to book a master suite or a presidential suite to get the free wedding. It's almost twice the cost of booking a junior suite which amounts to about 1,000 dollars more each. When you consider it's only 800 in total for the romance package, not even close to being worth it. Off I go again on the search for the perfect romantic spot.

Hi Ginger,

I'm getting married at the Playacar Palace in November (the Picasa Link above is actually mine!) The terrace is lovely and the hotel is perfect for what we wanted - only 208 rooms & within walking distance of 5th avenue. They do have a beach and I believe you can do a wedding on the sand - although, we opted for the semi-private pool deck area - next to the beach, with the ocean in the background. Please let me know if you have any questions!! We were there in January on a site visit.....

Ginger.... have you considered any of the El Dorado Hotels - if you are doing a "just the two of you" ceremony, you may want to check out El Dorado Maroma - it;s a small boutique hotel with only 72 rooms - gorgeous.....

Ladies!!! Thank you for starting this thread!!! I love this forum!!! :)

I have also been constantly searching for the "perfect" resort and I think I am down to deciding between Playacar Palace and Dreams Riviera Cancun!!! Do any of you have pictures that can be sent to my personal e-mail address at samnicolerangel@gmail.comhuh.gif I haven't heard back from the wedding coordinator and I am sooo anxious to get more information.

What are their options for reception sites? We are getting married in a church and will only be having our cocktail hour and reception on site.

Thanks in advance! :)

Camille,

Do you have the wedding coordinators direct e-mail? Also, are you working with a wedding coordinator to organize your ceremony at the church. I don't know where to start...I am set on having a catholic ceremony...and that is mainly why we are leaning more towards being married in Playa Del Carmen. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
